Hello Everyone!

I just got 2 new computers! One is a Dell 4500 and the other is a Dell 2300! Both with XP. The 4500 has a 2.0GHZ P4 as the other has an 1.8GHZ Celeron. Anyway I was going to buy an I Buy Power www.ibuypower.com but after reading some reviews on CNET I changed my mind and went with DELL. Anyway they are great! What is the main difference between a 1.8GHZ Celeron V.S. a 1.8GHZ P4? Thanks! :D

The Celeron will always be slower, no matter what clock speed it is, to the P4. The P4 has a bigger FSB and since its new, it's probably is 0.13 micron instead of 0.18 like the Celeron. You'll probably want to do all of your gaming on the P4 and leave the Celeron to word processing, internet, and stuff like that.

Congrats on your two new computers.

Yea like viper said, the celeron prolly runs on a slower clocked FSB (front side bus) and it more then likely has less L2 cache (this is very fast memory that the CPU accesses).

Very nice new systems - I highly recommend Dell, congratulations! :)

Totally

I wasn't planning on posting in this thread, as Dell sucks, but here I am, posting anyway.

Yeah Mista, I ahte Dell also...I can't believe they consider themselves "gaming" computers. Just build your own...easier to upgrade, etc.

Dell, Gayway, and Compaq are all the same.
Overpriced crap boxes that can't be upgraded by the average user...

Heh...when I think about the first PC I built I am shocked that I didn't fry anything. I was that much of a n00b...

It did take about three days to get it up and running tho.

Well, I looked at Gateway Compaq and those but they just dont cut it. They seem to have issues and the Dell has great service and warrenty's I have heard. I really thought of building one as I have built five, including my old one. But well I just wanted something new. Maybe I will upgrade one day! :D

Congrats man! Dell does a good job putting systems together. They test the different componets on the market to build the most compatible system they can. Where "we" usally fall short in building our systems, is once we decide on the CPU, we usally try to find the bang for the buck, and "we" usally don't have the resources to test differnet componets before we decide what we want to stick in it.

 and congrats again!!!

If I buy a computer thats prebuilt its going to be from:

a) Voo-Doo Computers (Great systems and paint jobs)
b) Sony (I'm a huge fan of Sony)
c) Alienware (Why the hell not :D)
d) Falcon Northwest (They just do)

Ah! Good old Alienware. Thought about it as I have a sponsorship deal with thyem! Anyone who wants hats, visiors, mousepads, rebates, stickers, posters, or anything else, let me know! I ahve it all! HAHAHAH! :D
