Wow... that game... is ... trash o_o.

Are there any mods that make this game worthwhile? The physics is just so horrid. The mirror reflections look like N64 games and the sounds annoy me more than the older GT games.

I enjoyed grid for the time I spent with it. It has achieved everything it set out to do in my opinion. It does not play well with a wheel as it requires so much tweaking to feel close to right. But if you want to drift you have re tweak it each time. It is best played with the controller from my experience.

Grid is a great fun racing game. It is very worthwhile if you are into gaming.

Great point. As a game, it's fantastic. If you're looking for a true driving experience especially with a FFB steering wheel, GRID isn't there yet. But if all you have is a controller (gamepad) and you enjoy close, heart-stopping race (via rubber-band effect), not anally-retentive and just looking to have fun and look at pretty graphics then GRID is more than enough.

With that said you can still play the game with FFB wheel. I've played it with my G25 and enjoyed it immensely. You just need to set the wheel up properly. Here's my setup:

FF Setting (In order)
20
30
30

Deadzone- 0
Steering Saturation- 25%
Linearity- 0
Accelerator Pedal Deadzone- 10%
Accelerator Pedal Saturation- 85%

Brake Pedall Deadzone- 15%
Brake Pedal Saturation- 85%

900%- ON

Grid is a fun racing game. I fact it's probably the most fun racing game on PS3 that isn't a pure arcade racer, and the online racing is fantastic, very competitive and addictive. For me, it's the US muscle car races on street circuits like San Francisco that does it.
However, it does have some graphical issues. The problem I think is Codemaster's EGO engine - it just isn't up to the job of rendering all the detail they put into in their racing games smoothly. All their racers suffer the same problems, which is why I am wary of F1 2010's graphical prowess - the static screenshots look good, but what will it be like in motion? They need to create a new graphics engine if they hope to deliver the crispness of F1:CE or GT5p. I know F1 2010 is nearly finished, but for their next game.....

I actually have Grid, I say actually because I have bought very few racing games the last years.

For me it is ok fun, I still have not beaten it yet but I guess I will.

It seems a little bit off key for me though for some reason, like it is a game I just play for the sake of playing it, but as I said it is ok, for me.

I have it for the PC and I really like it. Though as it was said above it's better played with a controller than a wheel. It's funny because DiRT 2 uses the same engine that Grid does but it plays much better with a wheel.

I never got to finish the game and I haven't played it in a while. Currently I'm going through FUEL which is another Codemasters' game that a lot of people didn't like but I enjoy. I have over 60 hours of gameplay on it, too bad the online is dead.

Anyway, after finishing FUEL I think I'll go back to Grid so I can finally finish it.

Fuel wasn't developed by Codemasters. It was done by Asobo Studios. Codemasters only published it.

I loved playing the demo. I wish I could play the whole game(as well as Fuel, Dirt 1&2, and Toca Driver 3) but can't at the moment because I don't have enough hard drive space left. I plan on playing the hell out of them all when I get my new computer setup within the next week.

Cool. Feel free to call me on Steam so we can play any of those online.

Once I get the new parts and assemble it I'll be sure to do that. I've seen you playing Fuel recently and wish I could do that as well. Oh well it'll only be another week or less(depending on how soon my debit card gets here so I can order the parts on Newegg).
