I just turned all the assists off (other than automatic transmission)

And found that driving is easier without them (at least for me). I no longer under-steer as much and acceleration has seen a slight improvement.

I have played if for about 2 months on and off, but I have recently gotten about 50% of the events done in GT2 and I am about 30% done at GT1 which I restarted a week ago. I have owned it since launch day.

I am dissapointed with the over-simplified gear ratios in this game. I can't do my usual setups D:

For the transmission I ususually set my first two gears pretty close to get an early lead, 3, 5th, and 6th are wider but 4 will be somewhat narrow as I spend most of my time around there, obviously I change this based on the car and I can't do this :nervous: (I have V1.0 because my ps3 isn't online).

You can do it nowadays. The whole feel of the game has changed quite a lot so I suggest you update.

I know, Its just that my ps3 isn't online because we lost the Wep-key to the internet (and no it is not on the router).

This thread is sort of spiralling from subject to next but you can go to your router's settings and change it to something you remember.

sadly its not directly hooked up to any computer, its some wierd one, now back on subject, I found the traction to be slightly decreased but somewhat easier to manage (paradox, I know).

Connect it via nat cable, shouldnt need any key then. What kind of router do you have? Sounds like you need to call tech support.

screw the assists, you need those updates done asap.

It'll take a couple of hours to download all of them so plan ahead.

and get the dlc. It features the best quality tracks and cars of the game, with maybe the exception of the ring.

Are you using the DS3 or a wheel?
plain controller, I'm waiting to find an affordable wheel that has a slight pull to the center like a real car.

Also please note that the router doesn't have any pins or reset buttons, it didn't even get the bloody sticker with the wep key, I am having an IT friend of mine come in soon to change the key.

Driving Force GT $130. best affordable wheel ever.

Did this with Prologue and was able to shave a ton of time. Since then, any assists I use ensure stability and clean racing, and are set at their respective minimums. Assists are just more tools in the toolbox, and using them doesn't make you any lesser a driver.
When I'm doing anything else (testing, qualifying, a-spec events) I keep 'em off.

I don't think of assists as nooby, I just wondered if they had a major effect, the only major thing I like about them is that it makes fishtailing on a kart more common.

With what I run, it's subtle, manageable, and slightly noticeable.
