But i WAS NOT recruiting in my post. I couldn't care less if people visited my Gran Turismo site or not as i'm doing it more for myself than anyone else. Otherwise i'd be blatantly using a VIST MY OARSUM GT SITE signature.

Seriously, what do i have to gain about posting up a link to a Gran Turismo site that hasn't been updated since 2006 (when i have had the ability to update it - just not the desire), and that mostly uses information that i've got from other sources?

Are you going to remove the link in my signature next? Did you not even read my 'the GTSC is not a GTP competitor bit?

EDIT: Actually, reading the edit again, you say recruiting for other webforums... The GTSC doesn't even have the link to my forums ANYWHERE on it, since they weren't around back when the site was last updated. So why remove the link...

You are right, the proper way would have been a PM, but as you insist:

a) If its expressly being done "for myself than anyone else", one would have thought you'd just ask for people to contribute to the thread and end it. Not to then give a rich description of how you intend to use it on your own site.

b) Databases of GT5 items are plentiful on GTP - colour databases, used car databases, RM databases, so creating one for everybody to share in on this site seems like something you overlooked in favour of creating your own branded one on another site; hence the link was removed.

More for myself. Because of that point i still fail to see what benefits would be gained by people clicking on the link and seeing information on the GTSC they've likely already seen before/know already. There really isn't any harm adding in the link in my opinion as its not going to change anything. People might like the site and it is there to be visited by others too, but its in no competition with any other GT site.

You're right, i didn't need to add the link but i also couldn't see why i shouldn't add it either. People post links to other GT sites all the time with no concequences, and those sites have a much higher chance of affecting GTP.

My intention was to have the topic stickied here (or maybe combined with an existing car database) AND have it on my site too. Because since i don't really advertise my site it would be better to have it on a popular site like GTP so that others like me can find the information easily enough.

So once again - my link was doing no harm to this site, so it shouldn't have been edited out in my opinion. Signature links are a MUCH more effective way of advertising something like that you realise...
