I think i like this new seasonal setup. Nice payouts for trying something new and under-powered! I'm playing with cars I've never really used before using tires that I never use and having a helluva good time. :)
Anyone else?

I'm enjoying it a lot. I keep knocking a few PP off of cars that I win with to see if I can do it again. I'm pushing myself harder and raking in the dough at the same time!

It's like a functional A Spec Points system. Good for those up for a challenge. Should be implemented in the whole game.

To OP: thread's title is somewhat too vague.

I'm enjoying it and i can't win them the first race came second the second race i came first i don't know what i should use, i hope there is more ideas coming up soon because this new thing is just epic.

Sorry folks, first thread, please excuse.

I always used underpowered cars in the seasonals anyways for the challenge. Only difference now is I'm getting paid for it, lol.

The performance boost is probably one of the best things that PD had implemented since the games release. I have used more cars today then I have in the past week. It's so fun to go out and try all those different cars that have been collecting dust in your garage. You might even discover a new favorite! I enjoy a new FTO that I never even touched before. Even ferther I tried with the older seasonals and I fell in love with an Opel Vectra 3.2 V6. This feature is innovative as well as inspireing.

Nice move PD, it make us use different cars now. I do believe that PD is now using GT5 as a test bed for GT6 MAYOR improvements, they will be testing for making a better experience based on the "good" responde of us. (maybe only JP )

This seasonal fits me perfectly! Sometimes I'll host a room for what has been nicknamed "ladder racing" where we'll typically pick a single track then do back-to-back races using street cars only (no race cars, concepts, race mods, etc), we'll start at 98hp and increase by 20-30hp each race. It's mostly for a bunch of guys with 700+ cars to have an excuse to race cars they've never touched. If we're on a rally track it gets interesting as the fully modified cars often have little or no advantage over the half of the field that still needs an oil change, although it's been a "fun and dirty" sort of light-hearted contest amongst friends (read: demolition derby in ****boxes).
I've got over 1500 cars now and most of my fully tuned cars are such oddballs (many built for the aforementioned ladder racing) that my garage has been dubbed the "Toaster Collection" by my buddies. Some of my regular rides include a Cube, PT Cruiser, Avantime, etc!

Like I said, this seasonal has had me written all over it! I've got seemingly endless list of hot rods I love to drive and Polyphony Digital has given me yet another reason to open a can of whoop@$$ in my A112 Abarth!👍 I've been trying to explain to people for a long time that they put 1000 cars in this game for a reason, if you're only driving 800hp exotics and race cars then you're missing 75% of the game!

Totally loving it.

However, I hope the next challenge is similar, but not 430pp.

The problem with the 6A and 5B challenges at 400pp, 500pp. 650pp was that you ended up with a dozen or more cars in the garage at each pp level optimised to go well. I have at least 20 cars set to 650pp that give me a chance of winning at least some of the 650pp challenges in both A and B spec'. I own well over 1300 cars, with duplicates, and last bought a car from any Dealer that was new to me several week ago, and i drive most days. The new Challenge has had me driving a dozen cars I'd never touched. Great!

So a different pp level for each new style challenge will avoid the same thing happening.

This.

I always try to find a good match for the oppsition in order to get a close finish.
I used to go for low grip tyres, now i use low pp cars.
It used to be all about car control, now it's more about maintaining momentum and planning your overtakes.
The flawed AI ruins the fun from time to time but overall it's great fun.

Try a bone stock Suzuki Swift '07 on sport hards @ Cape Ring.

Totally hooked yesterday on Eifel Karts with an Autobianchi A112 Abarth, more than one hour only with that combo, just managed to get 2nd place, a bit tuned with an awesome sound on sports exhaust.

good money, huge fun!

Sorry folks, first thread, please excuse.

Go to your post, click 'edit' & then 'go advanced'. It should then let you change the heading.

As for the seasonal format, I'm lovin' it!

Agreed, I have always used lower powered cars just to make it a challenge. You should check out the Car Of The Week threads over at the Q & A forum. Each week we are reviewing a new car, usually they are under utilized cars. I have run across some very interesting rides to use in the seasonals there.

I also like it, however I really hope they don't do it for B-Spec events. For me the AI is not good enough to be able to make it enjoyable, with this setup.

You could try just not doing the B-Spec seasonals if that is the case. Vote with[out] your X button.

I know, but I like doing all the events to get the rewards, if they do keep the same format I will do it but not as much as the A-Spec events is all.

I always already used lower PP cars for the seasonals, just to make good races.:) I always try to use cars that I haven't used yet, though now I've only run with the '08 Civic Type R, hehe. And the Spoon Integra '99 for Daytona, though that was a too easy victory, couldn't win with my stock Civic Type R though.

Does anyone have the feeling these seasonals are easier than before by the way? I have a feeling that they are, because with the previous seasonals, I had to take a car close to the max PP limit on the go-kart race tracks, otherwise I couldn't win. Now I easily won with my stock Civic of around 416 PP. This is not a complaint, just something I observed and now wonder.:p

Thanks Jaywalker!
These are the first seasonal races that actually take some effort. The only one I golded first try was Daytona. I also don't have a lot of good cars in this range, but I actually had fun with a Leaf struggling for 11th place AND got a huge payout. This will keep me entertained for a while!

Yes me too! I love the idea you get more for a lower pp car. I just hope the next 6 are NOT the same AND also 430pp. If they ring the changes with a different pp, say a 550, 600, 320, 720 and a 370 in the next six with a similar number of tracks, different each time it'll be even better.

I'm simply loving this new format and can't wait for new seasonals! GT5 was born again through this feature.

I think pp limit doesnt matter so mutch anymore cos you got bigger prizes using low pp 👍

And it's always been like this, peeps are moaning about pp and using max pp cars..IT'S ONLY UPLIMIT!!!

EDIT: And I realy like new seasonals :)

I think you missed my point. I love the new format. But if it's always 430pp I'll end up with 20 or 30 cars from 380-430pp optimised for the challenges. For the old challenges I have over 20 cars set to 650pp or just under and 20-30 at <500pp and 15 or so at <400pp. In each group I have at least one car to win with ease and several to be a real challenge to get in the top three!

Give me a 400pp, 500pp, 650pp Challenge as the last 6 A spec and 5 B spec challenges have been and I can wheel out a car to ace eaqch race and another to really need luck, and skill, to win.

I don't want to end up with a host of races nominally at 430pp as after 3 or 4 of these I'll have a set of cars optimised to win/be hard to win all of the races.

So next challenge, same format, but NOT 430pp would be ideal for me.

I doubt it will be 430PP every time. They only repeated the same PP for the "Online Challenges" and those were with 3 different PP classes. Most seasonals have been cars set the same for the entire batch of races, different cars each seasonal. I'd say they are likely to go back to doing it that way.

Hope your right, while 430pp FF is fun I'd love a FR 550pp series.

Step in the right direction, but I'd still like races with up to 30 laps or so with tire wear and fuel consumption.
