I have been wanting to get the I.Link hub and cables for some time now and ive found two different places to get the hub. The first one was Electronics botiqu, which sold this really shoddy looking hub for £100 but it comes with cables. The other one I have found is an IOGEAR PS2 battle hub also with cables but it looks a heluva lot better. Which one should I go for? I have a suspicion that my parents have already bought the IOGEAR one for my birthday though. When I get one or the other are there any technical issues I have to watch out for? I know that you cant use your garage cars because Ive done a Peer to peer link but now I want to do at least 4 player link. Any advice would be helpfull :)

I seriously have no idea. Who here has and is playing over I-Link all the time?

Is it great close racing?

I just want to play Gran turismo with the most amount of people possible. Someone on this forum must know
 
Just get yourself as many TV's as PS2s, a 4-6 pin I-link cable and a I-link hub. The real name for I-link is firewire, I bought a firewire hub and cables online and it works fine. If you get one from a store near you, just return it if it doesn't work for some reason. I have done a 5 player racing and as long as you pick the same car, or all JGTC cars, and are good drivers it is close racing. I mean if I had copies of me and my friend it would be sweet racing 6 players, but I can't find anyone who plays it as hardcore as the two of us. You will see when you plug all of the ps2s in, its funky on assigning who starts in front and who starts in the back. I think it is in the order that you boot up your ps2s and then join an I-link game. Not exactly sure on this. Oh, one last thing... race all the arcade races to unlock all the cars and tracks and make sure everyone has their music shut off. Nothing is more annoying then 6 people with different music tracks playing (I have mine off anyway). If you still have questions, ask and I shall answer.

Hmm I really wanna get to play close GT3 racing. Hmm oh well 2 player for now me = 13 vs brother = 18

I win 90% of the time :) but I have the coolest combacks eg 7 seconds behind on the start of the last lap and then to win the race by a few tenths of a second!
 
thanks man the article was cool. At the momen im gonna have to go for 4 player max 3 in the living room and on in the kitchen nearby. Gonna be sOOOO cool ARRRRR. Ill just make sure to hand my memory card around cuz most of my frients dont like the arcade mode. I just wanna drive a race around monaco with 4 people soooooo cool! :burnout:
