I lost all my data, is there anything that I can do?

Hello,

My PS3 got the YLOD a few months ago and I have now got a new Playstation. However, despite backing up on a USB stick, the data is apparently corrupted. I was level 35 A spec and 40 B spec so you can imagine how frustrated I must be.

Is there anything that I can do to get my data back, or will I just have to start again?

I did it myself and got all my data back so not all is lost. Good luck.
 
Is your SAVE corrupted or just the installed DATA? They are 2 different things in two different locations. If the save on the stick is corrupted it must have shown that it was corrupted on the hard drive before you backed it up. It's not too big of a deal if the installed data is corrupted.
 
It seems a lot of threads like this coming up recently. Thankfully I back up my data bit I hope my data doesn't corrupt.

Thats why you should also keep multiple backups on your computer. One backup is not good enough as you can already see.
 
Thanks all. I tried to fix my PS3 several times a few months ago. I took great care in following the instructions but it didn't work. But I have decided to start from scratch- should be fun! :-)
