I go to the flea market about every weekend, hopefuly to find some piece of electronic gear that i can use.

Most of the time my efforts are wasted, but not today.

I found myself a shiny new (to me:D) a/v switcher system. As a added bonus it has the ability to record from each of the input channels(3):D

Now i have *almost* enough a/v ports for my games/dvd/vcr/laserdisc's:D

here a pic of what it looks like (almost i think this is a newer model)

Not long ago, I got some deal on security cameras. Some store in Denver was closing out on electronics, and they had security cameras, recorders, and all needed equipment for $99 each. So I bought a few. If I lived on a busier street, I'd set them up outside, then sell the spectacular footage to Real TV. But alas, no.

Garage sales are pretty good, I just want to find a sucker wholl sell a neo geo console with tons of games for 20$ >D

put them in your toilet, and fix a monitor infront of the toilet. you'll scare the **** (pun intended) out of yourself everytime you look at it...

Flea markets are cool, but for me it's pawn shops.

Got my awsome Giant bike from one for $145.
Got my mint Sony stereo reciever from one for $70(on E-bay, the same one was selling for $250+).
My bro and dad got thier bikes from pawn shops.
And I'm sure that there's a ton more of pawn shop buys in my house(just can't think of any right now...)...

We use to hit the flea markets around here(there's 4 basicly, really big too)just about every weekend, but we stopped really...
Got my first cat from a flea market.
Got tons of CDs and albums(not for me, I don't collect music, just listen to it on the radio).
and a ton of other stuff...

They can't get wet.

I run my TV through the stereo, and then a have a Radio Shack 4 selector thingy that I have to switch between PS2 and Dish(both running S-video, my TV has 1 S-video input)...my whole room was wired by me(minus the wall outlets ofcourse, I'll let my dad do that stuff(if he screws it up, he takes the blame, not me))and it works quite well.

I was bored, and i have to kill time while this download is running 😈

 you are a dedicated videogames fan :p

All you need now is your commodore 64 and your coleco vision and yer all set ;)

I have flee markets where I live but all the good stuff is illegal, (ie. copied games and dodgy cable tv recivers) or complete and utter junk (fake clothes, kids toys etc)

I was going to do mine, but it's hard to show...I'd need to put the full layout of my room so that you'd see where stuff is going and all...

No wonder I can't get wire-ties from Radio shack, Space keeps snapping them all up!

Your kingdom would endlessly frustrate me...good work, though!

There's two flea markets in my area; one is rather scary (a baseball card dealer was going to sell me Steve Garvey's head once) and the other is a bizzare paradise of drive-in movie theater (walking around is reminiscent of being sea sick on land) and shopping mall, fused with a farmer's market. Good pizza, though, and one of the few where a mid-80's racing Porsche 935 sits on display!

Flea Markets, Pawn Shops and Garage Sales all totally rock for finding great bargains on stuff, and a killer A/V find is rare. Mostly people are selling their crappy fiberboard stuff.

First of all pupik Radio Shack blows for wire ties, they only carry small packages of multicolored ones... not good for a nice tidy wiring job. Instead, pick some up at Home Depot. They sell bags of 1000 for around $20 and they come in black... Perfect for a nice and neat wiring job.

M5Power, the simplicity of your wiring job is astounding!

Space, if you're going to run AV3 through AV4 then why not go ahead and run AV2, AV3, and AV4 through AV1, and save yourself the other two reciever inputs for your most often used consoles, like the PS2 and XBox or whatever.

Heh, i never though of that:D

is there a a/v switcher for the Next step up from s-video? (i cant remeber what it is called, i know the gamecube and xbox have them, the wire colors are red green and blue i think)

I used to have those nice adjustable wire-ties...just kidding about Radio Hack, I usually don't buy anything form them because they want to know too much information about you. I bought an FM antenna from them for $6 last month and they wanted to know my shoe size and pants inseam. It was scary...

Margate is in Broward County; roughly 200 miles from St. Cloud. It's somewhere in the urban chaos that extends from Miami to West Palm Beach. Hey, our town boasts 8 Lotto winners...(no, I'm not one of them)...but not much else; near beaches, lots of old folks and working-class folks.

Hey! Just noticed I'm a plat member!

Heh, i have to give radios shack my mom's names and stuff cause, everytime i buy something from them, ther are like

"but, wha? your not in our database. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HE'S NOT IN OUR DATABASE!"

:D

LOL, I've gone into the same Radio Shacks(there's 2 near us) multiply times, and still, when I go in there to buy a $2 connecter they are like "What is your name...ok ok, where do you live...ok ah ok...have fun wiring up your stuff" THEY KNOW WHAT I DO!!! AHHH!

But Sony's helpline is the same...I've called several times, but they do have me in thier database, but they asked me the wierdest question...when I called about my PS2's problem, they asked "So did you get GT3 on the day it came out? Do you like it?" (cause I called them July 2001 as GT3 was coming out(I call ahead so that I know when it's coming)) and I was like "Uhh yea I got it the day it came out, and it's great" and the guy was like "That's exellent to hear, I hope you continue buying Sony games".

Also, I have a Sony universal remote, and I lost the paper with the codes for the different divices, so I call, and they kept asking me "Are you sure you don't have it?" and then they said "To get the sheet you have to contact Sony's wharehouse(or whatever the guy said) and it'll cost you the price of the manuels and shipping" and I said "So I paid for the remote, and you are gonna charge me for a piece of paper?" and then they went on. So after the call was over I wrote them a pointed E-mail, and never got a responce...

PFFT!

I just use old info; a mix of past addresses and phone numbers, with a mess-up zip code as well. Usually keeps the RS employees entertained for a while.
