I need a Complete car wiring kit....

I have looked on google for complete car wiring kits but it semed to be a hopeless search. I have tried to look on ebay but the seraches I did revealed nothing. I need the wiring kit for my '73 Plymouth Duster I been starting to work on. While attempting to get the engine to turn over I could hear all kinds of sizzling and poping sound from a few random places after I hooked up the battery form wires heating up. Plus most of the wiring I came in contact with under the hood and under the dash become so hot I couldn't touch them. The whole electric system is totaly shot and need total replacement. There are frayed wires in a few places. The blinkers only work on fourway no matter if you turn the right or left signal on and there is a short to the starter motor. Main reason for all these problem is mice chewing on wires over the years and and the car not being driven and left in garages for 14 years.

So if you could could please assist me in locating a 1973 Plymouth duster electrical/wiring kit I would be hightly grateful becuase there is no way I can get the thing running without it.

I agree on painless. if not, try Ron Francis wiring stuff, those are very good, too. Year One should also be of help.

BTW, so COOl you have started working on that damn car, that thing is so cool you dont have an idea of how much I envy you. I have always, ALWAYS wanted a Duster like yours, but the 340 car NEVER made it to mexico (we got 360 SuperBees instead, in Duster form... I want one T-T)
VERY cool.

Yes thanks for the link, my next mission is to get basics like spark plugs and ignition ****, plus gaskets and so on. Too bad the brakes aren't function an the cluth petal sticks cuase i would try to drive it around the block when I got her fired up. But as I said, the car hasn't ben driven in 14 years and hasn't been running in 7 years.

oo another hotrodder here in GT planet, cool car, we just finished the body on the car were restoring and it just needs paint and some dress ups for the engine, you should keep us posted on the duster :)

I plan on doing that. I do have more pics somewhere. This car will take me a long time to restore due to the cost of all the work that needs to be done. The only thing I really have right now is the rear quatar panels. The front fenders need replacing, the driver side door needs to be hammered out and bondoed, need left side headlight frame, the hood has a crinckled corner that needs correcting, bumbper slightly bent in on left side ect. And thats just on the body. :scared:

The car ran into a wall about 20 years ago when some lady cut my step dad off. So thats where the damage on the left side comes from.

wow sounds like fun, On the El camino we had to replace both quarter panels( loaded with holes/rust) the fenders right behind the front wheel(rust) the doors had their share of dents, and rust lol. we just ripped the bed out completely and right now its plywood. The rear tailgate had a massive dent. We got an SS hoot for it and had to redoo the front of it. The rocker panels were a mess and had to be worked on also. replaced the gas tank(huuuge rust holes)which was actually why the car ran crappy. We replaced the fuel lines and the brake lines becasue of guess what... RUST. Now shes all in primer and actually going to get wetsanded in the near future and get some paint on it. it looks pretty straight in primer but my dad thinks there will b some flaws in it. I actually did quite a bit of welding on the car which is nice when your only 15 and i get to take autoshop in the near future which im very excited about. im sorry i kinda got off topic there Attila but definatly keep us posted on the project :)
