Im thinking about getting a wheel and this one seems most affordable 1 without the many un-needed things ill need in wheels such as g27..(g27 is great wheel but i think some of it is unneeded)

So can someone tell me what they think of the Driving Force GT wheel/pedals and possible were i can find a great deal for them.

:) ty

I have a DFGT, an I had never had a wheel before this one, so my opinion maybe a bit one sided but, I think the DFGT is the best wheel on the market for its money.

If you had £200 quid then I would be telling you to buy a G27. I however didn't, so I got a DFGT from Argos on offer for a £100. This seemed a bit steep for a glorified controller, but I took the plunge, and it opened the game up a whole lot more for me. You really understand the difference between a racing game and a racing sim.

Also there is the problem of what to mount it to. This I didn't know about. I was that ignorant to it that I bought it without even thinking that I would need something to mount it to! I was looking for anything, untill my girlfriend suggested the ironing board! Guess what, it works perfectly. Yeah I look a dick! But so what. Hahaha.

In short, take the plunge you will not regret it.

Keep reviews comming. The more reviews the better

Just to let you know, you know there's a massive world of internet and other forums out there with reviews, not to mention the countless ones that would be on here. Just gotta search.

EDIT: Also you're going to want to watch your grammar and not use text speak (such as 'plz' in the title), check out Rule 2: https://www.gtplanet.net/aup/

It's a really easy question to answer primarily because there is ABSOLUTELY NO direct competition to the DFGT at all... Logitech has been lucky... so go out and get one.

I have bought many wheels over the years and can easily say DFGT is the best wheel I've ever own at that price range. DFGT ( I got $10 cheaper) makes Microsoft Wireless Wheel look like a pile of junk. As with all cheap wheel the pedals, while do the job, are not that great.

Have you done any bungy cord or anything related to it to make your pedals feel different?

or are they still bad once you do that? Also if you have, how well can you feather the brake and gas? can you actually do it effectively with this wheel or is it still like ds3 bad. :)

I use a sponge under the brakes which helps. Even though they feel cheap compared to G27 pedals they are a lot better than using a DS3 controller. DFGT pedals (like all budget pedals) are not strong enough to wear shoes. Logitech pedals do have carpet grip which works very well on carpet.
So DFGT are not bad just no improvements compared to the wheel. They are basically the same pedals as past Logitech budget wheels.
One of the big improvement G27 has over the DFGT are without question the pedals.
