I'm sorry if this has been covered, I did a quick search first and didn't see it.

I'm doing an endurance race in A spec. I just went to pit, did fuel and tires. They lowered my car back down but I can't exit the pits. I just sit there with the time running away. Is there a sequence of keys or a button to press to drive off?

Thanks.

I can't help you because I haven't done the endurance races(wife and kids), so I haven't had to pit yet in game. But I'll comment on this to try and bring it to the top of the list so maybe someone can help.

The fuel takes LONG
I had to refuel a full 100L once in the X2010 and it took like 1 minute or more.

I believe it fills at roughly 1 liter per second. If you watch closely you can see the chap fueling sort of "pulse" every time a liter goes in. I've tried to count it, but got bored, though it was close enough.

So... thats the chap to watch...

Go to the fridge, get a cold one. Just like when I fill my Legacy at the gas station. Takes about the same time. Sigh...

That is pretty rediculous. When they were allowed to refuel in F1 they were limited to a refuelling speed of 12 litres per second iirc.

During my Indy 500 it took them about 60 seconds for 99 liters, so maybe 1.5 liters/second or so.

most likely, its due to the fuel being still put into your car.

Edit - oops, i didnt get IE to show me that anyone replied already... On a side note, anyone notice that on the endurance race(s) at Tsukuba that there are no pit crew but magically you get fresh tires and fuel?

It's amazing how much invisible non flammable fuel that guy can pour over your car from that little cylinder.

lol I have noticed how he doesn't actually have the nozzle pushed into the car, it's just kinda floating a few inches up.

That should just be the refueling then you can go.
It takes somewhere around a second per liter, I think but once the stop is lifted they drive you out of the pit.

And that's about the only type of car that is (was) filled that fast. In most other series, gravity refuelling is used.

Longer pitstops are an important strategic element of endurance races, so it's good they are that long. If there's no penalty for using tyres & fuel more excessively, every race is basically a sprint race. The length of pitstops is pretty accurately simulated regarding Le Mans-type series.

I've also noticed that some vehicle have two fuel doors. Why both are not being utilized is beyond me. Fueling does take a ridiculous amount of time. I don't remember taking this long on GT4. But in GT4, at least the gauges fill up letting you know how much has been filled back up and how much time you have left. GT5 doesn't have that. Also, correct me if I'm wrong here, but in GT4, I think you could cancel a pit stop, mid-fueling, by pressing 'X'.

The good news though is that it takes the same amount of time for everyone else to refuel too so you don't actually lose any time.

Also, I think it's good with the long refueling times because it gives room for some tactics where you can play around with the pit stop times to try and get advantages. If you pit at the right moment you can get a huge advantage. Get it wrong and you might find yourself having a big gap in front of you... Pit strategy is the chess of racing.

During your pit you're not allowed to adjust your strategy if I'm not mistaken.
