Hello people of GTPlanet!

For some time now I have been searching for Mpegs of 1970's Formula One racing but have not been able to find ANY. 👎 . I am considering just buying one of those Historic Formula One videos but before I do I would love to find and bookmark a site with some historic footage of these beastly machines. So, if anyone here knows of a reliable site or has videos of their own to contribute it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much...

Well I dunno where, you can download any of those videos, but a good film to pick up would be: The Quick and The Dead. Its about formula 1 in the 70's and the many dangers of it.

Well great apparently "The Quick and the Dead" is also some movie about the Wild West. Any links on where I could pick up the Formula One version?

You won't need more than this, trust me. Gilles Villeneuve vs René Arnoux at Dijon, France in 1979. You won't see that kind of driving from today's primadonna pansies.

EDIT: Another great Formula One movie is Grand Prix. I saw it on AMC a few months ago. Unfortunately, it's not out on dvd nor have I seen it on VHS.

PR you're right that is a great race. However, I am looking for early '70s Formula One racing. I've seriously researched for an hour and have not been able to come up with any good videos. I am looking for actual videos to buy now, so if anyone knows good links to buy classic Formula One videos it would be greatly appreciated.

The only other 1970's clip I've ever seen was one of Nikki Lauda's near fatal accident at the Nordscheilfe in 1976... It's an era I wish we could get more of...
