i accidentally deleted my game data utillity for GT5 and then i could not really be bothered to wait again for all the patches and installation to load up so i just went on version 1.00

after a while i realised there were lots of bugs and so i redownloaded all the patches and re installed it on my PS3 but it still says the INSTALLING... in the bottom right corner and my garage does not show all the cars as of the pictures are missing, its not happend though on my other account so im a bit confused,

i have also noticed if i load up a offline race (practice, A spec etc) the names of other drivers and my name is greyed out and i have to wait for them to load up to white and then i can start the race, it's not game destroying but it's just annoying and im not willing to delete my save game utillity

Yea, the pics being missing is one of the effects of deleting your game data. People who were glitching/sponging cars noted this.

You have one of three options. Leave it as is and live with it. Upload a new thumbnail for each car that has a missing pic, in each one of the views. Or, you can download new thumbnails for all the cars in your garage (a new option in version 2.0). This could take quite a while, so if you do it, give yourself an hour or so.

As for the way the races load. It is just the way it is done now. I noticed this change recently.

What he said ^
If you reboot, the "installing" message will change to "loading".

I don't get why PD chose to do the loading for AI thing.

Most people like to tune their cars just before a race. Now that the loading screen is replaced with the menu, you can tune your car while the race loads in the background. This saves both time and user's interest ;).
