Hello,
For some stupid reason, I looked up project gotham 2 on the net, and I found that the graphics look wonderful. Someone please tell me that the Gran turismo 3 or 4 graphics and better. Should I get a PS2 or an Xbox?
Thanks
Paddy.

p.s. wouldn't it be good, if, say you could buy a graphics expansion card the the PS2?

with over 500 confirmed car that can be upgraded, a bucket load of tracks, stunning graphics and fairly realistic driving dynamics how could you consider x-pox? :)

Click on "GTP Forums" at the top of the page. Then go to "Playstation 2" or "X-Box" to get a better response to your question.:D

It was. Just thought since this guy is a newbie, he should know about the different areas of GTP, thats all.

X-Pox, is that anything like monkeypox?

If you want a game you can win in an afternoon, you play Sega GT 2002. If you want a game to play for a few days, you play Gotham. If you want to obsess over a game and play it for months, you still have to go with GT3.

Gotham looks great. The strongest point is the detailed backgrounds, and that's something the PS2 can't pull off because it has less memory and no texture compression. I still have to say, though, that the nice shiny reflections in GT3 look better than any other game I've seen, even though X-Box can make things look a little more realistic.

If you've played Gotham, though, the control is just ridiculous. I'm not saying that GT3 is the same as sitting down in a car, but Gotham is just your standard unrealistic overly-forgiving soggy weird-feeling car physics. When Gotham came out, they had it playing as a demo on X-Box's in a whole lot of stores, and after you touch the controller it takes you about 2 seconds to say, "Wow, this sucks."

One more thing: Gotham has 29 cars.

X-Box doesn't have GT3 or Grand Theft Auto. I never really understood why anybody liked Halo. I can't think of an X-Box game that I would be even mildly interested in. Microsoft lost $33 million on the X-Box last year, and it's not getting any better. They just never got the good games.

Dude I say PS2 GT4 graphics are just amazing.

Well, PGR2 may have "better" graphics, but it would be only marginally, and who the hell cares about that when you've got GT3...:) GT3's gameplay is far better than PGR's could ever be. ;)

You can pick up Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and lose yourself for at least a month. Then go round and kill thousands of French soldiers. In an Apache.

Any console with GTAVC and GT3 is the number one choice - although I'm not necessarily slating the XBox/GameCube here.

I still prefer Sensible World of Soccer on the Amiga A1200 to anything else - and yes, the Amiga is still hooked up and running well at 9 years old.

Just think at how awesome GT3 is considering its got a few years behind it now. Then consider GT4!!! 500 cars, surrealistic grafics ( I saw that vid of the replay on Grand Canyon  ), online capability where even more cars will be added and most probably the best physics engine available for a racing game. Or PGR2.

I have no idea what year it is... I've managed to kill 14,000 French soldiers though :D

Heh...Acidman has killed over 100,000 French soldiers so far...;)

GTA: Vice City is heading to the Xbox sometime at the end of the year I think, but if I had an Xbox, I would have got a PS2 and bought it before!

I dunno, right off the bat I would say GT3's Graphics are better :P But get a PS2, then when can buy an XBOX get that..Or if you can buy both do it!

XBOX + Halo + 4-Players + 70-Inch Plasma HDTV = Heaven

PS2. The XBOX has never appealed to me, and from the XBOX games I've seen, the graphics don't look as good as PS2 games. All I can say is: Buy a PS2! That way you will not have wasted a big chunk of money and you will never regret buying it(I know I haven't)!

lol the only reason i would get the x-box is for Dead or Alive 3 and Dead or Alive Volleyball
they're just soooo hot =P

I played Project Gotham Racing, and it sucked, big time. It had pretty graphics but as a driving game it was very poor. I'm glad I didn't spend any money on it.

i mean, x-box is OK and i do take that term lightly i guess i do like halo but ill just get that for the pc same deal for need for speed hot prusuit 2 but illl just get that for my ps2 also:D

w00t, we got another Amiga person here and he's bloody English. Meh, although my dad managed to brake my heavily upgraded A500 and my A1200 as gone awol. I think TVRKing still has a working Amiga setup though, although he's from birmingham and those people are werd.

Anyway, I have a PS2 and an X-Box. Although the X-Box is good I don't see any game that is as good as GT3 on it. Although I would like to get hold of Sega GT just for a change. Mind you I just like to play mah copy of GT2 most, so what would I know.

PS2 + GT3
