I bought the DLC and it said no purchased content found when I click the DLC button and I found out that my GT5 was US version, and I'm in Australia so I guess I'm pretty screwed yeah?
If I go and buy the australian version tomorrow, what happened to my saved data? I really don't want to start over again.
:ouch:

That won't work. You'll have to start over. 👎

How did you get an NTSC disc and how can a PAL PS3 play NTSC games?

I bought the GT5 through a melbourne based website and it was around 70 dollars compared to what you would pay in a store like ebgames etc, it was 99 dollars if I'm not mistaken and it said Australia compatible so I bought it

SO my game data wouldn't work? OMG I feel like I'm going to throw up, I have like 500 cars, Collected all those LMP, Group C cars and now starting over, I don't have much time to play as I have to work, oh someone stabbed me now

same happened to me with Fallout New Vegas, learned a valuable lesson there.

it sucks big fat hairy borlz :(

I'm amazed by all the people who buy different region discs.

The way I see it now when I start over I will have some selections of touring cars available and that's about it, redo the license, grind seasonal, redo the A spec, train Bob, I feel like giving up GT5 but I couldn't since I just spent almost $600 3 weeks ago on G27 + wheelstandpro.

Make a new US PS Store account. Re-buy the DLC. It should appear on your Aus account as long as you have an American PSN disk. This should work and you should not have to start over.

I have 2 discs a HK and American. If I put the HK disc in my american account it starts a new game save but the cars appear there even though I downloaded them on the HK account. So the DLC is tied to the disc not the region of the PS Store account. You just have to initially download the cars from the correct PS Store account then they can be used on any account with the correct region disc.

I hope what I said made sense.

Well in the PSN store it does say this is only compatible with these discs.

you don't have to start over - just create a us account and download the dlcfrom the US PSN STORE it will work as it is a us game -only downside is you have to switch between accounts to drive the new cars.

and why do we buy other regions discs - well in AUstralia GT5 when it came out was $109. In the states it was $60. WIth the strong ausse dollar at the time why wouldnt we save ourselves $50 - that's almost another new game in the states

yeah I understand what u mean, but how do I connect to US PS store account since I'm in Australia, when I click PS Store it automatically goes to AUS PSN Store right?

create a new user - select the country - USA - complete the rest of the details as you would normally.

Make new account, everyday transfer cars to account (one per day :grumpy:), buy new disk, transfer cars back to account (one per day :grumpy:), get Au DLC. Long process and lose bob and A spec levels but it's only way to keep cars....

So I created a new user and I put US as the country and I could connect to the US PSN store, so the DLC that I bought would be useless ($19 gone that's fine)
So I tried to create new account, but with my saved data is locked to my previous account, is that right? so with new acc (US acc) I would need to start over too, and to make matters worse I have to wait for 1 more week to get the US DLC

How do I transfer cars? Haven't done it before

And uhm sorry about the stupid question about transferring cars, it's gift option right
So if I go and buy Australian version tomorrow, I need to create new psn acc, then I do need to reinstall all the game data, game update etc? then I slowly transfer the cars from old acc to new acc, is that how it works?

Yes.

I'm in the same situation as you but with asian psn + eu disc. I've given up on this dlc. I only wanted the new track anyway. The option of transferring cars i'm not going to waste time with. Nor am i going to start over. Pity.

So if I decided to buy the australian disc, and if I don't create new user I would be able to just download the dlc but what about the US disc I have? So I have same account but on 2 different region disc? If 2 same user name that means I can't transfer the car ? It's getting really confusing right now duh

so I should just wait 1st and see how this thing goes?

I was seriously thinking to go out and buy the AU disc right now but that means I have to spend another 40 dollars and then have to start all over again, not a good idea?
