Currently am in a league lobby and we have had an issue. The first, was during practice. The host reset the lobby for qualifying, and shortly after the game, or maybe PSN, kicked everybody out of the lobby, even throwing some players off of PSN. We all rejoined, and everything seemed to be runnibg fine. In fact, one of the drivers commented that they felt it was the smoothest lobby they had ever seen, almost like racing offline. Then, towards the end of the race, the game kicked 2 players, one of which was me. My screen said, "You have been disconnected from the server." This saying I haven't seen before. So what I'm saying is, is there something similar happening to other players? Or was this just a bad lobby lag? I did hear a rumour that the lobbies would have problems if you "reset" the track. Can anyone clarify this?

i can tell you people have been having weird problems similar to that. I think one or two posts were online related.

same thing has been happening to me after the latest update, getting disconnected from server error message very often and i've hardly ever gotten it before.

It happened a few times before the update to me.

It happens from time to time. It can happen when the lobby shifts owner as well, or just randomly after some time. If you have a bad connection you'll see the "you have been disconnected from the server" a lot (been there, done that).

Yes, but the strange part was that some players were kicked off PSN. Also, it kicked the players all at once. I dont think it was connection issues, because after these two problems, it ran flawlessly.

I have 25 to 30 mbps / 2 mbps cable and a good gaming router and used to see that message once in a while and get disco'd. I think it's just GT5 or PSN code screwed up. My connection is excellent.

The only reason it would kick everyone is if the host has "fixed host" status and either on purpose or on accident left the room.

The host was one of the last players kicked....
Its just strange, but oh well. The servers in GT5 are pretty bad anyway.

:@:s0ul_chicken I have had it happen a few times, including when I was the host and multiple people got disconnected. I have never used the fixed host setting.

:@:Whoever's interested  On a couple of those occasions it also threw people back to the XMB for no reason and this started after 2.07 NOT 2.08. I can also confirm that a high speed connection definitely won't grant immunity, I get 30+ download and 5+ upload most of the time and never below 10 and 2 when I've been playing GT5.

Kicked twice last night. Once it kicked me completely out of the game.

It was, it obviously was an error signal (or more) of either the game or the network which was sent over to everyone and which leaded to such a huge lobby crash.

I always host with fixed host status, rarely get disconnections in my rooms, but I noticed a few days after I installed 2.07 it happened twice on one day that everyone in my lobby except myself got disconnected, and all that happening in less than 10 seconds. Probably was a connection issue on my end then, no problems ever since, nothing noticed using 2.08 either.

The host doesn't necessarily have to leave the room, at least not before others become disconnected. As 'fixed host' your connection has to keep in touch with all lobby members non-stop and if your speed drops for a moment for any reason it might happen a bunch of others become disconnected. Doesn't explain the sign-outs of PSN the OP talks about, I'd tip it was processor overload for these people because there was a lot of network traffic that second.

No. They are the best console racing games servers around. Compare the lag and connection problems - mostly caused by the user more or less - you get on Gran Turismo 5 with any other car racing game on the PS3 and you'll see... Rockstar Games have bad servers... Atari/Eden Games have horrible servers... but Polyphony Digital actually have some decent ones. At least it appears like this to me.

Yes ive had this problem aswell. Its vwry annoying.
