Hello all,

Something strange just happened; I'm doing the B-Spec Dream Car Championship. I've just done the Monza race where it was raining, so I put rain tyres on my car (Formula GT - I want to be able to do other stuff so I gave him the best car I have...), of course he won that race and then I went on to Tokyo R246, and accidentally started the race before changing his tyres. As I've never done a pit stop in GT5 I decided to let him pit in the first lap to change the tyres, and strangely, every single AI driver pitted too. The whole thing looks awesome but is it not a bit odd that everyone else had the wrong tyres on too? In B-Spec do they all pit when you do?

Must be some kind of bug, when im pitting in with my guy, the AI opponents dont pit in. Maybe a bug with pitting on first lap?

I read about this somewhere before on the forum. Apparently the AI always starts the race with the tyres they finished the last race on. So if the previous race was raining, they'll start the race with rain tyres and have to pit on lap 1. Must be a glitch.

It just happened again; at Spa it was raining heavily, so I presume everyone had wet tyres on, then at the 'ring afterwards it was only light rain so everyone (including my own driver) decided to pit on lap one because the rain had let up.

I decided to test what happened if I pitted again and no one else did... Good thing my car was incredibly overpowered!

Sounds like some team owners may want to "counsel" their crew chiefs about showing up to races with the right equipment lol. That's an interesting discovery though.

It's a glitch. I've had all of the computer opponents start a second race with regular Racing tires even though it was pouring rain in the second race and I had over half a lap lead by the end of the first lap, and that was in an Extreme event haha.

i also noticed that the AI almost never pits in endurance races, even after 200 laps on tsukuba i only saw 2 cars in the pits and that was only when i also entered, they must have magical tires

Easy to win the Formula GT championship in B-spec by outsmarting the AI. I usually pit at 55% through the first set of tyres. That way I'll have superior tyres for the rest of the race. AI won't pit unless they have to.

Remember to fill enough fuel so you'll get to the finish while you're at it.

I do this with all races. Always pit on a lap that the AI is not. You'll avoid all of the congestion in the pits and also get more open racing time.
