I was leaving school today with a few friends to go out and eat at a local restauaunt. On the way there, we saw a homeless looking guy on a bike get the **** knocked outta him by a passing car. All I saw was a shiny object fly at him and it hit his head and he just fell off and onto the ground. We just kept driving, if were on our side of the road we would have stopped. Anyway, I'm assuming he got hit by a coke can or something. People are ****ing mean.

it just goes to show how creul and uncaring society can be.

That is sad. People can be so ignorant and thoughless sometimes. It was probably some poor ****er who wanted to take out his frustration on one of the few people in the world who are in a worse position than he is.

Would of been great if the car then slammed into a light pole.... No, I guess thats not right either. But I seriously hope they grow up and learn to respect other people. I always use to sit idlely by and watch my friends do mean stuff, then for a couple years I did it too, but now I think I would try to stop them. Although I think my whole group of friends have matured more.

It knocked him off the bike? Nice arm.

Good aim.

👍

Yeah - fantastic. I love cycling and getting abuse and stuff hurled at me. I caught up with the last woman who saw fit to buzz me and beep me whilst I was minding my own business keeping as far left as possible.

She's now aware of her weight problem, and that her choice of vehicle is both inappropriate for the Sydney inner suburbs, and probably linked to her weight problem.

Wow, that's pretty funny. I actually started riding with a Sharpy marker handy so I could write license plate numbers on my arm and turn people in.

I don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but in the United States bicycles have equal access to public roads. We could ride down the center of the lane completely legal. Though no one does that because it's obnoxious and you might just get a bottle thrown at you.

I hate people like that, I hate when people pick on people because they are poor or retarded or sumthin.... I like to pick on people too but i make it people who deserve it and who pick on others.

I would agree. Though I usually don't call that "picking on" when I am doing it to people who are mean - I usually refer to it as "hitting them in the head with a shovel".

I do pick on people who can handle a little teasing. It's fun to banter like that. I get it back sometimes and try to be good about it as well.

Yeah, you would do something like that, because you're an asshole.

There is one of my friends we make fun of alot, when we are drunk or whatever and playing madden and if he is losing we tell him he sucks and annoy him alot and he will just snap and go off on everyone, o well its all in fun. He doesnt get too mad, its just because he is drunk.

Asshole extraordinaire. I should change my title.

How about ...

If somethings too hard to do, then it obviously doesn't want to be done

I concur fully. What are you waiting for?

I'm changing mine to LoudMusic-esque. I don't even know what that means!

Ha!

I'd like to see "no one does that". I fully support equal access for bicyclists on urban and suburban streets as well as country roads... but:

I have seen so many occasions where cyclists get pissy about their right to the road, and then proceed to directly violate every known traffic law except the speed limit.

If you want me to share the road, I'm happy to. But that means cyclists have to follow the rules too. Red lights still mean stop. Don't sneak up the white line while we're all waiting, and then get uppity when I make a right turn across you. Don't listen to your friggin' iPod so you can't hear me behind you and then blindly cut a swath across the road. If cyclists are going to get all shirty and self-righteous, then they need to obey all the traffic laws too.

And joggers should just go to the damn park. That's what parks are for. It never ceases to baffle me why joggers always want to run right along the edge of the main road when a) there's usually a sidewalk they could use instead of the white line, away from the cars, and b) it can't be healthy jogging along and filtering all that car exhaust with your lungs.

Let me start by saying that I agree with you.

Then move on to defending the majority of those people. Cyclists get **** from motorists constantly. People honking at them to scare them, or reving their engine, or buzzing by rediculously close. Riding up on the shoulder shouldn't be an issue, but yes, some cyclists forget to pay attention when they come to an intersection.

Also, jogging in the road is far more comfortable as sidewalks are inconsistant. You never know when it's going to come to a dead end and you'll have to cross a muddy area. Additionally there are other people moving far more slowly on sidewalks and they tend to be frustrating. And the most important thing is, motorists seldom see joggers on sidewalks and aimlessly turn into the joggers / walkers at crossings. If you're in the road at least you're seen.

Oh, I have experienced this. . . I actually hit a cyclist once. . . I was pulling out onto a major intersection on a green light and the cyclist was coming down the sidewalk path of the major road. . . There was this big tree that obstructed the view of the sidewalk. I got up to maybe 4 mphs at most. the Cyclist jumped out onto the major road instead of going behind me, granted he had a red light too and literally turned into my car and jumped up on the hood. . .

Interesting. I don't know the details, but it's hard to understand who was at fault. What came of it?

I hate driving by cyclists because I always think they're going to turn left into my lane. The bicycle lanes here are only a couple feet wide, and they're only on most major roads. They should be between five and six feet wide.

Two things:
- one of the reasons cyclist cut through red lights is because one of the most dangerous times riding a bike is when traffic is accelerating from traffic lights. Bikes are at their steadiest at speed, and drivers are distracted because of the close proximity of other cars
- joggers run on the road rather than on concrete paths because asphalt is a lot easier on joints than concrete. That doesn't mean you should run on major roads, though!

Legally here, bicycles are vehicles, and it's illegal for adults to ride their bikes on footpaths, so I'm actually doing motorist a favour by keeping over to the left.

...and if I had a dollar for every idiot that yelled out that I have no entitlement to the road because I don't pay rego, I'd be able to buy another friggin' car. Man I hate that.

Let me go into detail . . . here is an image of the intersection I just mopped up

Aren't some lights tripped when a car pulls up to the red light? I don't think they work if someone on a bicycle pulls up.

The cyclist went onto the Major road as he was heading towards the bottom half of the picture on the same side of the road. I had passed the cross walk he was supposed to use and jumped out onto the main intersection. The same time he did that I started my turn to the major road and he jumped out and followed the red path I made. . . while he had a red light to cross the street he jumped out onto the middle of the major road heading the wrong way on it and slammed into my car and jumped onto my hood. . .

Well, that's pretty clear cut - he was on the wrong side of the road. That's pretty silly.

You know, I've actually gotten into several arguments over this. My understanding is that "anything with wheels" goes on the same side of the road - in the US that would be the right side. Anything walking goes on the left. But I meet people who seem to think motor vehicles go on the right and everything else goes on the left. I do remember for a fact that bicycles go on the right. That much was in our driver's manuals. As far as skateboards, rollerskates, etc, I don't know. It seems like things moving fast vs things moving slow is the issue. Or possible physical size.

Man, Thats insane. People should not treat other poeple who are less fortunate. But some of them homeless people chose the way they wanna live.

thats horrible, i hope i never do something that inconsiderate or just downright mean to someone. yeah, hes homeless, ok no biggie....you don't hit 'em w/ objects. buy him a sandwich and give it to him or get him Mcdonalds...something like that. dude, i hope they realize that with the wrong circumstances, and the attitude they seem to have now...that could be them in 10 years.

I see something sad everyday, I see kids trying to be something thery are not, nor something they want to be, only to impress our ****ed up society.

Coup.
