I searched and found several posts about this particular error but didn't see anything new after about June. If you can link to the information I need, thanks a lot.

Anyway...

I haven't played in months so after messing around offline for a while I got connected to the new wireless setup and let the system and game update so I could see what was new and check out my birthday ticket since that happened 27 years ago today.

After installing 7 game updates (2 over 300mb, one in the 60s, one or two at 40-something, one at 13 and one of just about 17xxkb, now at version 1.12) I started the game and was greeted by the "Insufficient Space Error".

The things I read about talked about a "limit" in filesize that was related to eithe 1.05 or 1.06 I think. I was at one of those before this update, and I'm only showing a save size of 432kb IIRC. I also read about a problem related to the changes in the course creator that allowed online courses being incompatible with saves that had prior version courses. I have 3 courses I'd made and 2 were over the 2.00 mile limit (read this in one thread).

Everything but the one about the course creator issue I saw mentions that one update or another solved the problem. Nothing I read was very current. I'm lost as to what I need to do here. I don't want to just start over, not because I was so far along (13 A-Spec, no B-Spec, about 20 cars, 8,700-ish credits) but because I have NO time to play and don't want to give up what I DO have.

At this point I think I've got more time invested in updates than gameplay and I'm super dissatisfied with the whole think. I only got the console for the one game I can't play right now.

A fine birthday present indeed, PD...

I have no idea about this issue, but I would be more than willing to gift you cars until you are back where you started if you must restart the game. I can also use you b spec guy too to get you money

well i was plagued with this issue a month ago, level 30 in Aspec and B. i have searched and called everywhere and everyone. they thought this problem was repaired with patches. but when you search online. you will see many have the bug. eventually everyone will have the same problem again.

Thanks for the offer of cars. I'll live though. Probably try and start off "right" if I start over because of this, and start with the best car I can for what I want to do.

I don't like that no one really knows why and it may repeat. What's the point in starting over now just to start over later. I might as well not play at all if its just a gamble anyway. I know its "just a game" but I know most of us here don't feel like its that simple when you've invested hours and hours on getting gold license tests or dialing in a cars setup until you've gotten every last faction of a second out of it.

The real thing that makes me so angry is I spend good money on the game, and they patch it over and over until it's broken. They didn't nearly finish the game or live up to their own hype, and in the process of cobbling it together after the fact, they make it unplayable, unreliable and unenjoyable to live with.

Flaws aside the game is great in small little bites. One moment or another is near perfect IMO, but the day in day out of dealing with the game software is miserable. I really honestly do think I have more hours invested in the damn patches than actual gameplay. That's just sickening.

If deleting my save and starting over will fix this issue for now, I guess I'll do that. Don't know for sure. I honestly don't want to delete the game data since I won't get to play today if I wait to re-patch the game and that means I likely won't have time to play for the next several months with my luck. I know I read that the track creator information wasn't stored in your gamesave though, so if that's the issue, I'd have to delete all the other data to have a chance and then what....18 hours later I might get to play.

I agrre with you, which is why i have not started over, it will just happen again. I think eventually almost everyone is going to experience this glitch. Im not sure i can start over, not knowing if im just going to spend all the time and lose it again. aggravating.

To update this:

I tried the reinstalling of game data and that worked. It took forever, but less than I expected. When I first downloaded that huge patch when it came out it took something like 14 hours. This time all the updates only took about 5 hours. Probably because its not being downloaded by a couple million others simultaneously.

I guess I'll be waiting for the glitch to return.
