Seems like all my arcade ghost replays are still there, however. Is that normal?

Replays and photos are separate files from the main save file, IIRC.
 
You do have a backup this time though, right, Blitz? After the first two got corrupted?

I did, but thats my problem. I tried to update my second memory, but it deleted my garage somehow:scared: , i didn't see it:ouch: , and then did the same to my regular file :dunce: .

After that, I deleted 1 of them so i could start over:idea: , but i still have the other, 35% with only an S2000:crazy: .

Ouch, that hurts then. Did you by any chance do something along the lines of save the game, swap memory cards and save again? Seems to me I recall something about that causing problems like garage loss. The safest way to back up your game is restart the PS2 without a disc in the drive or with the cover open, and use the browser to copy files from one card to another.

I take the ultra paranoid route. I copy the savegame to another memory card using the browser, then use the Max Drive disk to copy it to a flash drive, then copy it from the flash drive to a PC. Sure it takes longer, but better than losing dozens or hundreds of hours of work.

That first method is exactly what i did. Usually I take the time to go into the browser, blaw, blaw, blaw, but i was in a hurry so i just did the switch memory cards. the way it was writen i thought it said it would erase my old data and replace it, however, it erased my garage and replaced it, so all i had was the S200 i was currently sitting in.

how do you do that with a Mac?
 
There shouldn't be any issue with a Mac. The MaxDrive itself is just a plain old flash drive, thumb drive, whatever you want to call it, that plugs into a USB port. The MaxDrive software runs on the PS2 and copies saves and replays onto the flash drive. From there, just plug it into a USB port on the Mac. The file will have a bizarre name, though.

I don’t know why, but every time I turn off my ps2, I get the feeling that in the next time I’ll turn it on to play a game, I’m going to encounter this – Data is corrupt –. I think I need to buy extras memories cards. But, if I go to all that memories cards and they are all corrupted?:odd:

i never worried about getting my gt4 data corrupted until i started to reading threads about pissed-off guys that got their data lost. And so I do feel scared everytime I turn off my ps2 too,...that would be frustrating if it happened to me :grumpy:
 
My friend screwed me once by pulling the card out while saving Burnout Revenge. It annoyed the hell outta me for a few days but you get over it after a while.
