I think I'm getting better at the X1...(and had the best experience in gaming-life)

Was working on the A-spec Super GT series when I though "why not try it with no HUD?"

As I thought that, I decided to put on the driving line to help out a bit (have a 19" TV-hard to see corners well), especially since I was driving the X1/X2010.

All I have to say is "HOLLY ****". I ran into corners quite a bit in the first few laps on R246, but I got the hang of it in the last couple of laps (aside from still hitting a miss-judged corner or the slower cars :P), running fast around corners and setting roughly one minute laps.

I think that might be the best experience I've had in GT5 so far. PD did a truly good job on the racing experience in the game. If only I could get an option to show laps, position, the speedometer, and the timing (total, current lap, best lap, previous laps), and I think GT5 would be the best game out.

GT5 FTW (and the X1 too).

If anything i'd like to have the option to only show the gear indicator along with all the non-instrument HUD items. Every premium car has a speedometer and tachometer of some sorts visible, most don't give you an indication (on the dash) of what gear you're in, having that visual feedback available and leaving the duplicate stuff out would be great.

although on a related note, one of the best experiences I've had with gt5 was doing a 3 player multiplayer race on the Ring with GT-R '07s at night with all HUD items turned off, very immersive 👍

While on a HUD rambling spree, when you turn all HUD items off you still hear the beeps when you're supposed to get the checkpoint time differential. Am I the only one that would like to either see that beep be removed or provide the option to make an exception and show the section times regardless of whether hud is on or off?

+1

I would happily race with no HUD if you could just leave on the speed/revs
