I dont care much about standards vs premiums. However, I do believe that until GT6, we'll see alot of improvements, and it will all lead to improvement for the next installment. Bringing the series into competitive shape, and come back for revenge, again. Only this time succeed.

if anything though, PD needs to keep an official default list for ALL future titles so they know to never omit the important stuff.

I also think it is our duty as gamers, if we want great games, we need to get the devs to listen. Not resorting to blind loyalty. Hopefully PD can see communication between gamers and devs as something VERY important. And maybe even creating an western division for their studio. So we can get feedback from japan and western countries. Like how Nintendo has Nintendo of America.

They do listen and care, but the team is very small so they have to pick what they can do for now, and what they should leave for GT6.. Kaz really need to bust out the employment papers.

1 year from release to add a save feature to endurance and give standard cars a pathetic interior view that was already on psp game. I do believe that brining the series into competitve shape, when is already far behind almost everything and i'm not speaking about forza, is impossibile. maybe if the competition stops making games.

Im thinking that PD needs to bring something really hardcore and innovative to the franchise. Something no other console sim has done before. Not to mention revamp the series style aswell.

Real credit to PD this year to really knuckle down and develop Spec II and I'm glad they learned from their GT5 mistake of setting a release date months before actual release only to delay it to crush our excitement; by announcing Spec II a month before release. It was a real delightful surprise to many of us and I'm really pleased they heard the crys from the gaming community such as Spa and Race-Rewind-Replays. For sure, many will say its been long enough but given a Japanese Earthquake, PlayStation Network Outage and a Development Centre Cross-Country move, it has proved what PD is truly capable of doing.

Just like to make that point and let's not forget, PD is working hard to satisfy their long-term gamers just as much as their short-term ones.

I'm hopeful that Kaz and the team do this very thing. They need to look at what made them successful, the formula that culminated in GT4. Kaz also needs to examine his vision for Gran Turismo, overlay it on the world of motorsports, and see how feasibly he can capture as many of these "fish" in the net of Gran Turismo.

I don't think they need an "embassy" to their fans. What they need to do is just focus on the core elements of what makes a good racing game. Even sims. There is nothing stopping Gran Turismo from having entire series of races based around different leagues such as BTCC, WTCC, ALMS, DTM, World Rally, something reminiscent of Formula 1 - like CART or even Formula GT. They have plenty of assets - cars and tracks, and they have a great and ever improving physics model. The A.I. could use a tweak, but what game can't? Anything is possible with Gran Turismo, now that SONY is making consoles that are on par with gaming PCs.

As for PD being a small team, that's really not true. They had around 150 on the team a year ago, though clearly as ambitious as Kaz is, he could stand to beef that up. Hopefully SONY understands the value of PD, and with the profits which flooded the company from the sales of GT5, and what's coming from the holiday sales boom, SONY will fund some additional modelers and artists for the team.

As for the topic, this tidy update does indeed show the promise of a GT5 which grows and matures as the seasons pass. It can serve as the last Gran Turismo on PS3, as long as the team keeps adding content to it, which gives them the luxury to devote the majority of the team to work on GT6 on PS4, and make it the Gran Turismo the game we've been dreaming of.

This is why I've been thinking for years of Kaz making separate game modes for sim-style racing. At some point, I intend to make a GT6 wishlist and detail all the things which would result in an epic Gran Turismo.

Some of us are very aware of that, and this is why I'm so very grateful to Kaz and the team for what they did.

They are doing great stuff with updates. Anyone complaining is either ignorant or just like to complain over anything. These updates are good in PC you have mods which makes the game even great. They are trying to do it but it is not possible to change everything.

They may be thinking of updates and DLC till PS4 but I think that is not right. May be they should release another game on PS3 in a year or 2.

I think DLC is the way to go with PD. GT6 could even be based on DLC. You could have 800 or so premium road cars and all tracks from GT5, then have themed content packs, such as WTCC, DTM, BTCC, FIA GT packs, with the cars and tracks, plus events included. Every year a free pack with the new cars that have been released in as well.

Glad to see a reasonable bunch of people making reasonable comments. There is some sanity on gtplanet :)
