I think this is a great idea

I don't know how much it would cost, but would it be worth the time and money to re-release GT1 with updated graphics? Keep the car mechanics the same, just make the tracks and cars better. I would love it if they could, but is it feasible?đź’ˇ

Probably not it's generally best to leave old nostalgic games like Gran Turismo in the past and remember them as great games. Things like racing the test track with a Mitsubishi GTO, saving up for your first fast car or putting the racing kit on a car will never be the same the second time round. Anyway the graphics aren't that bad if you really like the game.

There was a thread on this subject recently (recently in the GT1 forum means within the last year, lol).

It's not gonna happen. That's my opinion, but who knows...I could be wrong. But I don't think I am.

Point? GT series is all the same: you, car and the track.

Besides you can get pretty good graphics if you emulate the game on PC (GT2 on the picture)

And you can get banned from this site too.

The sticky thread has only been at the top of this forum since December 2008, people.

It's not up for discussion. Read the sticky thread at the top of this forum which, as already stated, has been there for 18 months.

Since they put up MotorToon GP recently, maybe they'll put up GT 1/2 as well.
Would be great to play GT2 legally on the PSP.

A HD remake is highly unlikely though.

I could care less, if you can just wander along to a local game store (not GameStop), you can be like me and get both GT1 AND GT2 for $10, then clean them off and it works great. I figure they won't put them on PSN, because then Sony would be under pressure to releae GT3, GT4, etc. etc.
I just don't see it happening. Just go buy them and play them.

(end of the 🤬 sticky rant)

Maybe a PSN re-release? :sly:

(never mind the sticky rant) I don't see why not, since Motor Toon just got put up for 6 bucks, I wouldn't be surprised to see GT1 and/or GT2 available on PlayStation Network. But IMO don't bother with redoing the graphics. A classic game like GT1/2 shouldn't have newer graphics. Stick[y] with the old-school graphics, even if they're dated compared to the real life-like graphics of GT5.
