I think we should get an endurance race.

Just one is fine with me in an update. With maybe 250-500,000 cr 1st place. Theres no b spec in gt5p so I think its balanced because you have to do all the work, so your earning it. I just hate having to do 5 laps all the time for small money.
And it would be cool, obviously to have all manufacturers and NO pp in the endurance race also. The lap number im not sure about depends on the track. But im fine with an even 100.

Eh, no PP would lead to 10 F1 cars punting each other (and everyone else) off the track for 100 laps.

I'd prefer more variety of online events over longer ones.
 
Maybe I should have specified. I meant In single player. I wouldnt want an online endurance untill the full version. I dont go online that much anyway.
 
That'd be nice. Back in the day, my father and I would do the GT2 endurance races and trade off control at every pit stop. The closest you can get at the moment would be arcade mode, I suppose.

there is a possiblity to do longer race in the single player mode. go to arcade and then select single race.

hope that's what it is what you want

Great idea, I think that a bunch of Ferrari's going around Fuji or Suzuka would rock. Specified and balanced.
 
endurance races with all classes togeter, offline with 30-40 cars on the track so you would always have someone to pass :D that would be sick!
 
But we don't have pit stops, tire wear or fuel running out. Without these endurance races won't be realistic or enjoyable. I remember this from GT4 where choosing a right strategy was very important.

That would work but he also mentions credits in which case in single race they give you none, and also we don't have the fuel and tyre wear so it still wouldn't feel quite right, the idea is pretty good and it has been said before, also an online endurance would be good but until we get private rooms and fuel and tyre wear I wouldn't want to see it.
 
No. This will only lead to people quiting after like 10 laps. Unless it's private with GTP's only. But yeah, endurance racing would be sick, but with pros and cons.

Yeah. there would be alot of punters, and where there are punters, there are frustrated people who might quit.
 
But now they can't quit, well unless they shut their PS3 off. I think it would be awesome, but like many others said they would need to add tire wear and fuel into the mix.
 
Any other thing that i would like in the full game is an option for onlinechampionships with friends... 12 persons meet and race together for points on maybe 16 different tracks... maybe including a maximum set of wheels for the season,so you got to drive carefull and also motor damage or lifetime :D ,limited budget to repair your car if you damage it asf.

there are a lot of other ideas i would love... but i think this will keep a dream :D

but for prologue i would love this idea to race maybe 20-30 laps for an big credit up to 250.000 Credits...
 
I would doubt that you will even finish even one race of an online endurance race because you got so many sore losers out here that if they think that they have no chance of winning they would quit the race and they do that now by quitting the game or just turn their PS3 off. It would sound like fun if you didn't have to worry about people quitting all the time.
 
With current online I see visions of punters hosting, then quitting the game in lap 99. ;)

Offline would be a nice idea though, would be nice to fit it in Arcade.
 
I think we need to see tire wear, fuel consumption and a bit of a damage model before we can enjoy endurance races.
The problem with endurance races in the previous GT versions was that you always knew that your car was going to run perfectly for the whole races as long as you changed your tyres and refueled regularly. It would at least be nice if you needed to make additional pit stops to repair your car after violently spinning off track or hitting something.


On another note, I would like the return of Bob. I had an amazing time with B-spec in GT4. Besides that, at some point in the game (the point where I was just running cars around the Nordschleife in time trial mode) it was very nice to have bob earn some money so I could buy whatever car I liked.
To balance the (final) game, they could even let you 'earn' Bob.

edit: By the way, I think we actually need RACES.

yeah they were cool, apart from the lack of day to night change. surely pd must include this into the full GT5?

if not and they include enduro's, they'll lose some credibility

Well I do hope they include Day to Night and weather effects....this would be Number 1 on my list for things to be included in GT5. K.Y has made some basic suggestions to these being included, I really hope they can implement this...it would make Endurance races really fantastic, adding a real world environment where you have to adjust your strategy to suit weather etc.

And'the wet'track conditions that are featured in GT4(although just in licence tests.yeh?)I'm sure sorted the men from the boys:sly:.Thus continuing to making the GT brand a true driving simulator.....!!............................. "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RACING":)

I think both tracks you mention would be great. Fuji is also an option in my opinion, but I rather have Suzuka and/or Daytona road course.

It would be quite cool to have 2 classes (8 cars of each class) doing the same enudrance race and having separate prices for each class. A bit like the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Suzuka 300KM and 1000KM & Fuji 300KM and 500KM would be good for a start.

Daytona Road but hopefully not 24 hours!
