but it seems i was wrong.

i've got a leadtek 6600gt, which online claimed to have svideo out, BUT, on the faceplate of the card, beside the supposed s-video out port, it says "VIVO". so i gave it a shot, but no dice.

i'm connecting the ps2 to the 6600gt via this BFG tech VIVO adapter.

i suppose the obvious reason is that the 6600gt isnt really a VIVO card, and i should have believed the website that claimed it was s-video out...

so, now i have to turn to either a tv tuner, or a console VGA connector (these things)

any suggestions on what to do to get the best picture quality on a CRT monitor from a ps2?

Your card needs S-Video in, not out.

If you just want to see video from your PS2 on your monitor, then get a VGA connector. If you want to record video from your PS2, get a TV tuner.

i know i would need s-video in, not out. i figured that was made apparent when i placed it being s-video out as the opposite of it working.

can a tv tuner not just let me play it on my screen without recording it?

are there any vga connectors that you would recomend?
