I am in a serious decision.
Well... not so serious.

Anyways, I have a ps2, but I want games that are for xbox, that are for ps2, but look better on xbox. So, I was thinking about selling all my ps2 stuff, and with that money, get the xbox bundle. The only thing I would be missing are GT series and GTA:VC. So, what do you think. I like fps, and dont like rpgs. I have tried FFVII, but got bored with the melodrama. I have never being a square fan, and I like fast, action and shooting games. So? What do you think?

if you are over 15, i suggest you get a job. you can make 200 bucks in a week, easy. then buy an xbox and have both.

if you really dont care about ps2 anymore, than just sell it for the money you need. but if you didnt care about this decision, you wouldnt post here i dont think.........

besides the rpgs, ps2 has a lot of great games. I will probably pick an xbox up soon for steel battalion, halo, shenmue II, and some other games. But i will always want to keep my ps2.

yes...
get a job and do NOT sell you ps2.
...you said you like fast action games? Get Half-Life, best first person game ever 4 PC and PS2.

Keep your PS2.

If you like First Person Shooters, then use your computer. Only the best FPS are on the PC.

If you have a PC that can play 3d games fairly well, you could probably do without an Xbox. So far the only game that is worth anything that isn't on PC is Halo (which is coming to the PC this year.)
I've played MotoGP, Rallisport, and Morrowind on both the Xbox and PC, and in every case the PC runs them better and at a much higher resolution. Not to mention Free online play (obviously not Morrowind which isn't multiplayer.)
The PS2 and GC are the only consoles with exclusive games that you will not find anything like or comparable to anywhere else.

Xbox over a PS2? Have fun with Segas GT2002 you moron. I'd like to ram one of those controllers up Gate's ass. Wait, that sounded gay...I think they sold like 12 Xboxes in Japan.....what kind of tool do you have to be to own one in Japan.......get a pc if you want crap.

You sounded angry to me, and yes, the Xbox controller is the worst ever.

So, what do you use then? A.......... .....Mac? (Falls over at the thought of anyone actually believing that a Mac has ANY advantages)

Oh, and the XBOX controller RULES, if you don't have tiny little 3 year old hands. Oh, as for a job, over 15 doesn't cut it, I and everyone I know gets turned down for not being 21.

I know for a fact that atleast 999 of them were sold, thats how many panzer dragoon LE x-boxen were made.

Well, XBOX is more powerful and will therefore offer better graphics. If that's what you like more than anything else in a game, go for it. If you want good game selection and such and still decent graphicsa in a game, stick with PS2. It's pretty much a personal preference really. I'm quite happy with the graphics on a PS2 and I prefer the game selection much more than any other console so that is why I have what I have. Some people prefer the graphics and games like Halo and therefore like XBOX better. As I said, it's your call. I'm not trying to persuade you one way or another, just giving my views on both.

My rant: i h8 people who buy the xbox for the graphics or because halo is the greatest game ever (its not... i find it incredibly stupid...) the Ps systems have far more games and generally the games are far better than an xbox game. really Sony has produced some of the best games i've seen, to ditch them because of graphics is incredibly lame... i you want graphics wait a bit for the ps 3, i heard it will be far better and should have better multiplay ability with 3 disc changers.

he said it all. and lemme tell you, I have a friend over here in Guadalajara, Mexico, where american-versions of the Xbox are made, and he got a job in the Xbox factory... after some week or two in there, he told me that the parts used to make the Xbox are ABSOLUTE CRAP. not even comparable to what was used in the PS2 making, wich were all very crappy parts too. but for the xbox, he told me that it was the cheapest stuff he'd ever seen (hes got a degree on electronic engineering, so he knows what he is talkin about)

the Xbox SUCKS.

wow, thnx, thats the first time i had somebody agree over that issue :p

I've been using an Xbox for over a year now (my friend's) and have experienced nothing but delight at all times. First off, Halo is a much better FPS than Half-Life, Second, Xbox controllers rock because you a) don't get arthritis using them and b) they have a good setup, including triggers - very nice. Also, the box has a hard drive of which I'm happy and still very perplexed to say hasn't gone under the 50,000+ blocks number we started with, and that's after saving monster games such as morrowind, halo, sports games, and many others! Imagine not having memory be an issue. There are four controller slots which means you don't have to buy a stupid expensive expander strip. The truth is, the PS2 was barely up with the times when it came out. The dreamcast (which came out 2 years before it) was nearly as good as was the PS2. Xbox is the first console to really take a big step forward instead of just doubling the bitsize as was common with nintendo and sega for so many years. If it wasn't for GT3, as I had mentioned before, I myself would own an xbox rather than a PS2. That being said, I can't wait for GT4, but then, I'll probably have to buy another memory card to store it...

I cant stand the xbox, i h8 how people buy it just for the performance, looking right over the ps2 with its quality of games. i cant stand when people judge the xbox as the greatest thing ever because of halo (i still fail to see the fun in it and i've played it porb about 5-6 times mission and large MP battle). I'm not sure about the controllers they are too big and bulky for my taste, i mean, try playing a fightin game where you have to be quick on the buttons, thats impossible with the xbox. i dunno, thats my rant, enjoy ;)

What do you disagree with? They're facts. By the way, I bare no preference toward microsoft or sony. They're both giant corporations trying to pad their pocketbooks and keep stockholders happy, but at least microsoft is doing it's best to stay ahead of the game while sony seems to be dragging somewhat.

how can you say sony is draggining out?! sony is comming out with a ground breaking next gen console, its incredibly doubtful that m$ can top it in the time frame. it sickens me of all this m$ fame that goes on from the xbox, people completely look over the fact that xbox games tend to suck, i havent played one that i've liked yet.

well despite all this I am also getting an xbox for a couple of games really the main 1 being shenmue 3 I also hate the pad but i said that about the dreamcast pad so what can I say Just adapt!

Yeah, PS2 was such a ground-breaking console...it didn't even have anti-aliasing! And I guess you probably won't like games that aren't button mashing fighting games that you described...why don't you just go to the arcade and pump a couple dozen quarters into those fighting games, that should keep you happy. Oh yeah, and by the way, if you for some reason don't like the x-box controllers, you can get the SMALLER ones. One more thing, they are making a second x-box...

once again (as expected :dunce: ) you compared the systems by performance.... 1) PS2 came out before xbox how the hell people over look that fact beats me  2) you failed to mention anything interesting about xbox games 3) i've never played a ps2 button mashing game, if you would be so kind to support your theory name me one, and i can prob show you easily you would get your @$$ kicked at it. 👎 :yuck:

You know, I bashed the X-Box a fair bit in it's hayday. But what do you know, I have one now and to tell you the truth it isn't that bad. True, the controllers do suck and there aren't as many good games for it. But it's still a good console. You know sony actually haven't made many hit titles (apart from th first Gran turismo on the PSX, when PD were totally part of sony), it's mainly the third party people. Also you know if Sony didn't have any competition, you wouldn't get as much nice software as you do now mainly because they wouldn't have to fight for sales.

Another thing is allot of the multiformat titles are way better on X-box than PS2. Take Pro race driver (it isn't out yet in America, but it is in the uk) it looks awfull on the PS2 (mainly because of it being difficult to program) wheras the X-box version is much better graphically and has had some handling issues fixed.

I'd rather have some competition than no competition at all in the industry.

If you're not gonna measure a system by performance, what will you? How about the fact that yes, the ps2 is older by 2 years, yet it still costs as much as the xbox. And they swore left and right that they wouldn't drop their price because they were making too much money, but then when xbox did, they had to. So, would you pay the same price for a computer with a 2 gigahertz processor as you would for one with a 900 mhz processor? and games? true, many xbox games also come out on the ps2, but they're no where near the quality as in splinter cell (good game) - they had to remove quite a bit of graphics. Ever heard of a little game called Morrowind??? One of the best games ever, absolutely beautiful, no way the ps2 could dream of handling it...not only because of the graphics, but because it's gargantuan. Knights of the republic is coming out which promises to be great. Shenmue I think might classify as being good, I don't know, ask the millions of people who own it. There are many more, and I'm not sure how many i would have to mention for you to be satisfied, so I'll stop.

agreed xbox has good performance, big deal, that shouldn't be the factor when deciding to play games, ps2 cannot lower their price any further, neither can xbox and such. Back to games, I've played project gothatm quite a bit over a weekend, it didn't come close to gran turismo in quality (not graphics).

Yeah, I don't particulary like ANY of the racing games on xbox so far, except some of the rallys. Project Gotham is kinda silly, because it's not entirely based on racing anyway, you get kudos. Sega GT 2002 is alright, but the handling for the cars still suck, not very realistic. But other than racing games, most are good.
