Well I was bored. So I decide to re-caulk my winder in my room. So I'm scraping all the old, cracked crap of, which was causing a huge mess(cause on the walls, the caulk was from before we painted the room(we painted when I was like 7(9 years ago, by estimation, the caulk was from like 1987 lol), so as I was peeling this crap off, paint was flying off the wall), but I got it all cleaned up. So then I use rubbing alcohol to clean the surfaces, and get this strip caulk stuff. Utter crap! It said that the liner should stay on untill the caulk is in place. So I'm like "ok ok this might work". Wrong! I got about 4" down the wall and the liner separated from the caulk, then the caulk tore and went to the wrong place. So I'm yelling "God damnit!!! Piece of crap!!!" and then I was just going to wait till my dad got home from Borders, and ask him if I could use the caulk gun and the brown caulk that matches the winders(windows, I just like saying winders, like "I threw a ball at the winder and the winder broken" you get it...
). He has the caulk gun at work. So he said that he would bring it home tomarrow. So now I have an uncaulked winder with a quarter inch gap on the top(which I jammed foam into for insulation). No problem.
Then I had to put the winder shade back up. It's this thing that you pull the string and it goes up and if you pull the string outwards it slides down, it's like an insulaing shade that blocks the sun and keeps the heat in ect. Well, as I was getting this thing back up over the winder(mounts on 3 little clamp things on the header(for you un-house builders, that's the 2X6 that's at the top over the window gap)), and this little bar that locks the strings(so you can raise it to a certain hight and lower it ect.) dismounted inside and the shade went strait down. So then I had the take the thing down, and my mom fixed it and stuff. So I finally got it back up.
That was like an hr ago. This whole caulk adventure started at about 7:30...
I'm tired... It wasn't a matter of me not knowing what I was doing(I've watched Bob Vila for years, and all those other home shows, I'm skilled
), it was bad supplies.
Stay tuned, I should get this all done tomarrow if it works.
Ohh, and I also fixed up my B-series grill that's over the window...Cosmo chewed through the wire, but it was a good thing cause it allowed me to hook it up to this switch(a lever switch, one way goes to a PC fan(that is my PS2 cooling system), and now the other way goes to the light that's inside the Mazda emblem(taken out of a busted flashlight...it's supercool. A shining "wing" emblem in the middle of a silver metallic Mazda B-series grill). So tonight wasn't a total loss...
And my mom said that she would pay me good money to recaulk some of the other winders. I might have my first job!
