Mac's haven't really been around as long as windows...

Lolwut? MS-DOS was released in 1981, and Windows was released in 1985. The Mac OS was released in 1984.

*stuff about Parallels* Because OSX doesn't receive virus

Wrong. Mac OS X is perfectly capable of hosting a virus. Just because no one wants to write a destructive virus doesn't mean the OS is immune. Virus writers are not going to waste their time trying to infect the minority of computer users, when it's much easier to write a virus for Windows and infect millions of people overnight. There is also plenty of other malware on the Mac OS.

this makes your gaming experience a lot more fun, and means that you don't have to waste money on virus protection. And all you need to start using Parallels is the software. I.E Windows 7, or XP.

Gaming on a Mac? Only if you like a small hand full of games that are already dated by the time they get ported to the OS, and have the money to shell out for the Mac version of a decent video card, unless you have an iMac or a Macbook/Pro and then you are stuck with their mediocre graphics. This is slowly changing though.

Don't get me wrong, I love OS X. It is vastly superior to XP or Vista in terms of user friendliness/intuitiveness and resource usage (compared to Vista anyway). I have yet to use Windows 7, so I don't know how it compares, but I have heard that it's very nice. If Apple wasn't so stingy and let us install OS X onto any computer isntead of just their hardware, I would dual boot OS X and Windows in a hearbeat. Windows for gaming, OS X for everything else.

I have 5 PCs in my house and haven't bought virus protection for any of them. There are plenty of good free programs to keep PCs from viruses. You're silly if you bought it.

This^

Haha I see where I went wrong then. :) Criticism accepted.

I do agree with you on the 'Windows for gaming, OS X for everything else.'

So, I got the computer yesterday afternoon. My first impression of Windows 7...wow. Such a step ahead of XP and so much better than Vista. It looks very nice. I'm still learning my way around it though. I almost feel guilty for enjoying Windows.

I didn't notice much of a difference between Vista and 7, except for the faster start-up and shutdown. Maybe on a slower PC it would be more apparent.
