I am a father of two and a husband of one who only has time to race from 10:00 pm to midnight. I admire those who don't cheat or B spec. However, I used the Ultimate Codes disc to obtain max cash and get all licences because I just love driving and racing the cars in the game.
I want to drive the Formula GT that you win at the Ring's 24 hour race but my code doesn't work on that race or on the arcade car modifier.

Q. What is the easiest way to obtain that car? I have no qualms about cheats or B spec?

BTW - I did try searching first.

Thank you to all contributors for the great forum!

You'll have to win it from the 24 hours of Nurburgring then, unless you know someone who has a spare FGT in their garage (in which case you could trade it from them). Start the B Spec race at the 24 hours of Nurburgring at 10 one evening and leave your PS2 on until 10 the next night and you'll have the FGT. Pick something ludicrously overpowered (the Toyota 88C-V or the Nissan R92CP are good choices) to ensure your B Spec driver wins by a comfortable margin.

The FGT is a bit of a let-down, IMO, so don't expect too much or you could end up disappointed.

The only legitimate ways are:

Win Nurburgring 24 Hours.
Complete 100% (which includes winning the Nurburgring 24 Hours).
Buy it off the memory card of someone who has one already.

Don't know anything about cheat codes, but I'm sure there's a one-lap-win code out there.

The FGT can be a lot of fun with 200kg ballast and reduced downforce - some of the races are very competitive if done for 200 a-spec points. I think I spent more time setting up my car for Tokyo than racing - very close, handling always on the edge - lots of fun.

But, agreed, there is a lot of the series that cannot be made competitive (Hong Kong and HSR being two prime examples).

For the original poster - it is possible to get your b-spec points to around 7000/95/70/70 in around 2 hours if you follow the method outlined in this thread - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1580846&postcount=31

It's more satisfying if you actually legitimally win it. I stared at it for hours after winning it, knowing i actually DESERVED it.

The formula 1 car is just insane. I have driven many kms with it and I am loving it. It tearches you very much about racing calm at high speed. No aids.

I was wondering how much the GT F1s feel is on the same level of that in RL, cause you see, I have never driven one.
And with plastic pedals and crappy steering feedback (comparing to RL) and a 32inch tv it's hard to compare I guess haha!

It probably is more satisfying that way, but I seriously could not be arsed at all to do it, not even drive around the track for more than 3 laps and I get bored. Everyone plays the game in their own way, I think I deserve the car for simply letting my PS2 on all night and wasting electricity for that long.

I was going to let my PS2 run on it's own in B-Spec but didn't think the pit guys would do anything until I clicked OK to tell them what to change. I know the car will pit automatically when the tires get bad enough but will the pit crew change them without prompting? My son ended up babysitting the PS2 in B-Spec mode all day on 3X telling it to pit. Finished with 215 laps at Nurb. and got the F1. My son and I love the car! Very cool and sounds cool as well.

Was it from AR?

My friend bought one, and soon discovered some of the "Unlock" codes such as that one do not work.

Sorry.

Since you have a Cheat Disc, do you happen to have a Max Drive (the USB Pen that allows you to insert cheat codes and make backups of your memory card contents), also?

If so, you might want to try to take a look at this post and then click on the link mentioned. It will take you to a website where you can find a lot of GT4 Save Games, most of them with ALL the cars in the game - both in GT Mode and Arcade Mode.

I know at least one of the save games has the Formula GT, as I use such a save game on a regular basis - on my spare memory card - for "Online" Racing purposes.

I'd suggest you to make a backup copy of your entire current memory card, before messing around with the save games, though.

Hope this works for you.

EDIT: I forgot to mention... I would tell you which save game it is, but I can't remember. It was a long time ago and I tried pretty much all of them, so I don't really know which one it is that has it for sure.

They do change your tires and fill up your car automatically. You just loose a little time.. Perhaps 10 - 20 seconds (don't remember how much exactly)?

The only bad thing is that B-spec changes to 1x game speed when it exits the pits. So leaving your PS2 alone on B-spec will take close to 24 hrs.

I did the Nurburgring 24 hrs (with the Toyota Minolta) on a free day I had during my summer holidays and just left the PS2 on on B-Spec, checking every it now and then to put it on x3 speed. There's no way in hell I would sit there driving round the 'Ring for 24 hrs. Firstly, I'd be flying all over the place as I lost concentration. Secondly, I'd have to leave the PS2 on in between driving stints and my plugs have a horrible tendency to overheat.

The f1 car is good though, handles likes a dream. Only moans I have about it is that you have to use Racing - Mediums and I prefer longer life tyres.

I have nothing useful to add to this thread. Simply saying I feel your pain. I have a wife and 2 small children and am relegated to playing by beloved gt4 late at nigt for an hour or so before I go to bed. :(

Since reading this I've been completing the endurance races in B-Spec while I sleep. I've also got family and responsibilities so can't really sit for hours playing. Some of them I'll do the first few legs and let B-Spec Bob take over and I'll just go to bed. I wake up and voila! I've got another trophy and a new car! Most of the endurace races are pretty easy to win by a bunch of laps if you use a fast car like the Pescarolo or similar race car. Pick some harder tires so you can get more laps before pitting.

Last night I used the BMW M3 GTR race car for one of the endurance races and was doing pretty good when I left it and went to bed. Got up this morning and I had won (or rather B-Spec Bob had one) but by less than .150 sec! That was a nail biter I bet. I wasn't going to sit and watch the replay so I just cashed in and got my new car. "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning..." Vin Diesel Fast and the Furious 👍
