Not neccessarily.

Quicktime alternative is a codec that lets .mov files work in windows media player.
 
Sweet. Is that computer aided? Looks like it. It'd be friggin sweet if that was real dancing.
 
The standalone Quicktime? that still installs an uploader/updater onto Windows... it's a pain in the ass because it keeps reinstalling itself everytime you use Quicktime.

Yeah, its bad that way. I guess I use it pretty much just for the Internet radio streaming.

Point is, why not download it anyway, and use it as much or as little as you like?
 
Why would I put a digital paper weight on my computer?? Digitally imported or WinAmp streaming music takes care of that... Not to mention I can record straight to Mp3 with winamp
