Some of them looks horrible with low textures, and some looks beautiful which almost look like premium.

Patch 1.06 have improved some of standard cars which is fantastic, and I hope PD continue doing that.

What I'm thinking is that they shouldn't make all standards into premium. That would waste their time because they're busy with GT6. Of course, some standards should be premium like the Veyron. Special cars only.

What they should be doing is just improve the quality and textures on standard cars. But not modelling the interior of them. Just to save some of their time to put their efforts into GT6.

It would be nice to see good textures on ALL standard cars without interior.

What they should do is scrap the standards in online racing and A-spec and make the game progress Premium cars only (Standards in arcade will do fine). Focus on making the premiums as good as they can get and not put a single second on making the standards better.
If they are to be better then convert to premium should be the only option.

But my guess is they will not convert standards to premium, instead theyll introduce new cars from 2011, gives more money for them and they can ad to the marketing list..GT5 now with 1001cars.

They'll never be able to do each car as a premium. They would need to get their hands on each car for an extended period of time and that just isn't possible.

Converting them to premium is a lot of work. Wouldn't it be better to improve the textures?

Look at G4 '64 and the '84 Skyline. They are standard and they look incredible. Just like premium, but maybe 1% lower.

Lol. I think about 95% of people including me will disagree with you.

Hmmm, I've always thought PD needs to throw some standard cars into the mix for technical reasons. Lower polygons should require less memory and SPE cycles...

I reckon they will have to be working on cars for GT6 already, they won't be much better (if at all) then the premiums we already have. So converting standards to premiums might just be part of the long term plan anyway. That and adding newer models. I just wish the Jag XFR didn't have the door lines 'drawn' on!

I don't care whether they bother modeling the interiors as long as they just give me the option of putting the camera in there. I don't give a crap if all I see inside the car is blackness as long as I get to sit inside the car. That would take little time and effort, relative to tweaking the car models or textures.

They don't need to redo all of the standard cars as premiums. For example, the R32-34 Skyline GT-Rs are fine as-is. We've got one of each as a premium, and that's enough. No more Skyline GT-Rs, unless they're the '70s-era models. The NISMOs are okay, but shouldn't get top priority.

Another way to simplify might be choosing only one trim level to be premium if multiples were available as standard cars. For example, only make the Lancer Evolution VIII MR a premium. Skip the GSR and RS models.

The Toyota MR2s could be handled in a similar vein. Now it's true that there were at least two variants in each generation, and three in the case of the MR-S. For the first two generations, simply include the NA versions and make sure that forced induction can be added in the tuning shop(1st gen gets s/c, 2nd gen gets turbo) to make them resemble the high end models. In the case of the MR-S, just use the six-speed model as the only car.

An approach that economizes resources by using the best variants and avoiding duplicates could really help PD get a full set of premiums done sooner. By finishing these 'old' cars sooner, PD will have time to focus on new cars that have been launched as well as older cars that weren't included before.

Not making the supra rz, camaro z28, bmw m3 e46, e36 etc as premium cars was BS. Most of the epic streetcars from the 90s arent even premium, how come? And how come the HP rate is decreased for cars that in real life would be easy tunable, and cars that is hard tuned in real life has much HP in this game?

Not making the Supra RZ preimum, and only 725 HP made me angry.

They got the McLaren F1 in, thats all I need in the sense on 90s streetcars. The rest are pretty ugly. The 90's were a step backward in car design imo.

I doubt what your saying will be true. Unless Polyphony can crank out gt6 in less than 3ish years then gt6 will be on the ps4. And no one knows the capabilities of the ps4. I see the gt5 premium cars becoming the standard ones in gt6 as PD can build off of gt5 and focus on new content more, as they already have a great physics model.

If you think the maclaren F1 is a streetcars, than you dont know anything about the streetcar era in us and japan. Mclaren F1 is a supercar, cost about 600 000 dollas, is that streetable? The 90 had many beautiful cars, that also was potential.

Very good idea. 👍
Theres no need for standard cars getting premium, just the need of improved graphics and ability to change rims. All standsrd cars premium or non at all, because PD seems to be lousy picking "popular" cars, just look at the horrible premium list.

Thought you meant "Street-Legal". And good looking 90's cars are a needle in a haystack, a diamond in the rough.

They just need to watch, what the most driven or most bought standards are and convert them into premium.

So you want premium FGTs, Bugattis, and 88C-Vs?

Why not just be happy with the game you have? I think it's fun and I think the cars look fine (yes, even the hideous Standards). It's really not that big of a deal. :indiff:

Assuming that the interiors for the different trims are the same, PD can just "copy and paste" interiors.

That's a great stupid idea bro!

They wont convert standards to premiums for GT5 while they are busy working on GT6 and giving you a good reason to buy it (1200 premium cars :p).

I think there may be a small amount of DLC at most maybe a handful of cars.

That's what I was going to say. The supercars, race cars and drift cars will get the most traffic, and I'd like a more even cars list of upgrades.

Zonda R? Yes.

Lamborghini Countach? Yes.

BMW M3GTR? Mercedes-Benz 190E? Yes yes.

240SX? Tiburon? 3000GT? Yes yes yes! :D

But for the most part, I agree with the OP. Clean up some textures and the Standards will be excellent. Oh, and open up Standards for Photo Mode locations!

Assuming that the interiors for the different trims are the same, PD can just "copy and paste" interiors.

There are slight exterior differences(ex: different wheels for all three) however, and PD would 'have to' include them for each model. While not a showstopper, it would take time that could be devoted to completely different cars.

Some of the best cars are standard. The guys that want them scrapped are just absolutely insane.

I'm so over the bitching and moaning about this game it's incredible.

I would quit. You are stupid.

No way! I want the car to look nice when I'm driving it!

Ugly cars puts me off from driving it.
