Well... Take a look at mr. Zimmermann on this screenshot.

He was driving a BMW M5 in one of the endurance races with his teammates. They managed to end up 12th place.

But it boggles my mind how Mr. Zimmermann could've gotten so much experience compared to O. Cash

"Experience" is more like a time line. The longer a driver has been there, even if never used for a race, the more "experience" he will show. Doesn't seem to have any noticable impact driving skill though.
 
Experience just shows how long it is until the driver has to retire, but I have no idea how he could get that much from one race
 
Wierd! Mine says "career".. Why are there these differences in the game?

Edit: Oh, and you can easily have them level up from 0-xx fast! Le Mans Will give him 2.2 million xp which Will level him up greatly in just one race for example (he won't be of much use though)

It's different between the NTSC and PAL versions for some reason. I dont think anyone knows why.
