Wow..... thats got to hurt. Must be lucky for me to still be in school and have a free time chasing my dream and be lucky enough for my place to have such a following. But I know what you mean with your work and having to go to the events at the same time, its going to happen to me as well.....

But yeah, I can't really decide if I want to make a living as a professional drifter, which is fun to do, but it will hurt you in the long run and if you not good enough, might as well end your career. On the other hand, I could just get a job and do these as a hobby, which would be okay for a normal person, but then you will be so far behind everyone else.
Also, I might not even be lucky as you to start my drifting career with a S13. Might go the old school root and buy a VW Beetle (which, *don't laugh at me* I'm going to prove that it could!) or maybe an old Toyota Corolla (not the AE86, but its distant cousin, the KE70. A popular car to use here for drifting.) or any old car within my cheap starting budget at 500US$. Don't ask why I can't afford those 90's Japanese cars, cause they are highly valuable here. I mean, a normal S13 could be as much as 3000+US$ and FB/FC Mazdas at 2000+US$. (and a new drift car is out of the question!)
Anyways, back to your reply. Maybe your just unlucky that your place never caught up with the drifting/import scene. Maybe you should try to work hard enough (or dare I say it, change jobs) and try to move out and live somewhere like California. (I must be mad.....) Then again, maybe you can gather up with some local drifters and get the city council to make some "drift days" near your area available. Also, maybe
parking lot drifting ain't so bad as street drifting...... try getting any approval from the mall or try finding an abandoned parking lot and drift there (if there is such as place.....

)
