How is it possible to gold this? My best is 18.860 after countless attempts, also using a wheel but still cant get near 18.3xx.

There just seems to be no power in the car when i'm trying to accelerate through the turns, its like driving a 18 wheel oil tanker.

Agree this is a REALLY tough test, I'm stuck on it too. My best is like 18.5xx something so feel I should be able to shave off that last bit somehow but I can't find it anywhere. Even the demo they give you only manages 18.8xx if my memory serves me correctly.

+1 for help with this please.

thats exactly the problem i just cant find even a few hundredths never mind the 6 tenths i need.

The first turn is really important too, not just the two hairpins. Make sure you're not braking too much through there and then you basically have to get the last two perfect as well.

I'd turn TC off too if you haven't, it's tough to do it with TC off but I'm not sure it's even possible to do with TC on.

This is the best vid I could find:

I follow pretty much that line, guess I just gotta work on maintaining more speed.

i spent 4hrs doing this test with a logitech G25 in my cockpit.

i went from using TC5 and abs 1 to no TC and no ABS and countless others.

i ended up just using the default of TC5 and ABS 1 figuring its default so it has to be possible with that setup.

i finally golded it with a 18.255

my previous best was an 18.301

i went from 18.304, 18.303, 18.301 and at that point was ready to kill something!

if there was a way to upload replays i would but if anyone wants a copy of it i can save it.

was so stoked when i got it and to smash it by so much.

to me it all came down to the second corner and having enough speed and the right angle out of it to get a good exit on the 3rd corner.

you HAVE to take the first corner without braking, thats the only thing i can suggest that others might not be aware of yet.

I give up :grumpy:

So ... I got today my new PS3, and now I have my own GT5 no more playing on the best friends PS3.

I've done the first the licences in 45 minutes.

So small report...

This one is a bit tricky.
You have to disable TC, in my oppinion.

The first corner you have to throw your car into it ( 2nd gear ), then get as near as possible to the left and throw your car again in the right.
And try to get in a slight(!) drift.

For the following left you need that drift, to get quick into it.
Short brake and full throttle out of the corner.

I took for this and the Schumacher S licence more tries, because they are pretty difficult.

I hope i could help a little bit.

Otherwise i upload a video tomorrow

sorry guys apparently my first post contained lazy grammer. so sorry for trying to help out.

going back to NextGenGaming.

If you tried it a few times, like about 100, you should give it a break.

I did it myself with about 18:35something and tried and tried and tried, then i gave it a break.
After playing some races and some other license tests i came back and finally golded on the second try with 13:12something.

You have to give your brain a little break to get it without actually doing it. It works like a charm.

This one was the hardest license test for me.

ABS:1, TCS:0, ASM: Off

Turn 1, maintain all the speed you can - a good lift should get the car to turn, try to stay off the brakes. Don't worry about getting back to the left to line up the first hairpin. Track just about all the way out to the right to carry maximum speed.

Turn 2 - the ultimate "throw-away" corner. Brake in a straight line and trail the brakes hard. You will be entering tight (only about 1 car width from the right side of the track) if you carried good speed from the first corner. Make sure to run all over the curbing at the apex, and do not track out. This is an in-in-in corner where your turn-in is from the inside, you stay inside all over the apex, and you stay tight during track out.

Turn 3 - if you were disciplined enough to stay far right out of T2, you should be able to make a strong turn in, and begin working the car over to a late apex as you work in the throttle. Although the apex is late, don't go too deep into the corner before turning in - don't make the corner longer than it has to be. If you were all the way tracked out right, you should be able to quickly turn in and cut across the track towards the apex. Try to be full throttle right around the apex. Use all the track-out space to the right.

Is the consensus to brake on the first turn or not? I find that if i nudge the break i can carry more speed through, when i slide through (lifting off gas) i lose too much pace.

Also, how far over to the left of the track should i be when lining up the right hander and what speed should i go round it at, at the mo i'm taking it at around 35-40mph.

best time 18.516

it took me 3 trys till silver and another 10 to get gold.

first corner brake late and go over the curb.
than stay left and take the first hairpin large, so you stay on the inner of the first hairpin, so you have not slowed down too much when entering the 2nd hairpin. With the skid recovery mandatory, you have more grip than you think. After that it's pretty much strait forward.

I have far more problem with the start and stop challanges and the one with the mini slalom :S

I did it! this is my last gold out of the whole licence test!

i follow your advise on keeping everything as is, and took like 5 tries and cracked it! thank you sir!

Yeah IC-3 was a little toughie for gold. This was the only time I have ever used the handbrake in a license test and it made the difference.

I think I had TCS and ABS at 1. As you go into turn one brake and touch the handbrake, and then catch the drift. Get this right and you can get through T1 with a lot of speed.

Next up T2 where dreams are made and lost, keep it tight and take a late apex, SLOW in, fast out.

T3 just requires a short lift and floor it... but not too soon.

HTH.
