I'd like to see car "sell" values addressed in a patch

I've figured as I'm sure many of you have that the money is tight and races are short. I've got a few monster tunes, and when going to finally "sell" one I couldn't help but notice that upgrades have no effect on the vehicles value.

Pretty frustrating, if you ask me. The typical rate in "sell" is around 35% of base vehicle value, no matter what you have upgraades purchased for a car.

This is not an issue that needs a patch to fix, GT has always been like this (I can't speak for GT1 & GT2, but I have GT3 & GT4 and it was the same in these). Modifications never count toward resale value. Unfortunate, but that's the way it is.

I just wish you could sell every car. I have so many that I cannot sell. In fact, I have 3 Shelby Cobras. But I can't sell any of them. :grumpy:

Hell, real life is like that as well ;)

I have about $60,000 of engine and bodywork and interior mods on my real-life C5 Z06, still doesnt bump the used value up above its current $25,000.

I can't speak for GT5, but GT2 through GT4 were always 25% of the original purchase price (compared to similar models, if it was only a prize). GT4's concept cars were mostly worthless and GT1 had a 12,000 credit trade-in limit on its race cars.

With a few historical exceptions, modifications to a car are strictly for the owner's pleasure, and not for investment...although I'm sure more than a few fools and their money have parted ways, resulting in headaches and a bulimic bank account.

I'd like to see something similar to real life.
Untouched factory stock cars should be worth more than ones that have been modified.
Modifications should decrease their value.

Exactly. Tuning and modification is not an investment if you consider selling your car in real life.

Yeah... but how about this one! I bought a Nismo Concept Z car for 997K and when I went to resell, I was told I can not sell that car only remove it from my garage! 997K investment in a race car and BAM... no resale value!

Also, I bought a Z race car a Stream Z I think for ~200K and resale value is 60K

Selling a used car should be close to the same as buying a used car, as in real life!

If I own a 2005 model car I can sell it for about the same I can buy one!

Why would you want to sell your cars. I've always seen car collection as a part of GT, so I can't bear to sell any cars unless I have more then one of them.
