Hi all,

I brought up this idea in another thread but would like to see it have it's own.

I came up with an idea of how to satisfy all parties regarding game saves.

PD can make it possible to save enduros so the majority of us can save and walk away to tend to daily responsibilities etc. They can also insert a new trophy at the same time. The trophy can only be earned if you run the enduros without saving and without pausing. Those individuals who complain that saving an enduro is not real racing can tell all of their friends that they got the enduro trophy fair and square. Maybe the trophy can be called, "The Insomniac", "Endro Weenie", "Up All Night, Sleep All Day". There should be a naming contest.

I could care less about that trophy so long as I can finally enjoy enduros with saves. And the elitists can differentiate themselves from the rest of us.

Then those that wants to earn all trophies will complain that you know, this isn't necessary in real life, so why in game to make it less realistic, less healthy?

Simply put saves. It isn't going to harm those who play without saves does it?

For your proposed trophy, i can understand doing it without saving, but without pausing is asking too much. Nobody in real life does a 24hr endurance constantly. The work load for an endurance race is shared with other drivers. Perhaps the no pause possibility could work if you could use your B-spec bobs as well to drive some stints.

I've almost unlocked the final enduro. I like the idea, except the pause bit.

None of my real-life friends are into GT, so I must do the enduros by myself. I did La Sarthe over 2.5 days by doing 10/10/4 hour stints. I'd pause every 2nd pitstop for whatever break is needed, and a long pause for sleep. I can't do 24hours straight by myself.

So, despite the effort I put in (I felt exhausted actually, I'm old), I would be denied the "no save" trophy.

Perhaps if you complete the enduro with no saves and in less than 2 or 4 days with pausing?

We just need one time only (load and its deleted) saves while in the pit stop

And maybe lock everything (a spec b spec etc while race isn't finished)

That way its like a pause, but you can turn off your ps3

Or they can make it online (driver switching), but its more difficult to fully sync AI

I put the "no pause" clause in as a little jab to the guys who don't want saves. I agree that no one can actually race 24 hours straight. I just get discouraged when players intimate that saving is cheating or not sticking to the realism of GT5. I want to race the enduros and not leave my PS3 on all the time. Saving is the same as pausing without risking the health of your console. A small minority of players, however, argue otherwise and it is rather discouraging.

good idea! put this in GTP feedback! or comment in 1st leading "in race saves"

PS only problem is that throphies are for 100% for Platinum throphy

did you mean this one throphy to be with no purpose whatsover, and it will be not seen in the % in GT life. maybe they can add some small icon within the throphy % in GT life so all who looks @ maniacs profile will see that he plays GT 24/7 :))

They just need to make saves that can be loaded once.

It has been done in rpgs.

It's a good idea but I believe they are not putting in the pause funnction to keep the realism about it, I mean you dont see the real races get paused so the drivers can take naps. Not that I necasarrily agree with their way of thinking though.

I am not attempting to be abbrassive with my forethcoming reply...

Again this is the old argument that in "real" races, there is no save or pause etc. In real races the driver does get to take a nap when the other driver takes over, and then another driver until it is the original driver's turn again. NO ONE has to race 24 hrs straight. Lets also remember, please, that this is a game, not real life. Games are supposed to be fun, a release from reality and all of the stress that can come with it. With or without saves, GT5 is fun, but I want it to be even better by letting me save during enduros so I can enjoy them like the next person and still have my life. No one is ever going to force a player to use saves, it would just be an option for those of us who cannot sit down for a lengthy enduro.

I agree with most of what you said there but in reality GT5 is a game but it's not your typical gamey game, if you know what I mean.
LIke I said I was just giving my thoughts on why it hasn't been implimented.
