The latest and (maybe) greatest of my many ideas.
I'm a great fan of the story in Codemasters' Race Driver 2. And, seeing as many people want a story mode in GT5, I was thinking "Why not introduce GTPlanet to this idea?".
So, the idea is, drivers that enter this will have to score rep. points. At the end of the year or in the summer period (depending on when this will get going), the top 12 drivers will go to the Shark Team Challenge (STC). This will consist of 3 phases:
1: beginning round:
All drivers are given choices of championships to run in, and you'll score STC points that will count towards the STC Overall Learderboard.
2: Sudden Death:
In this round, only the top 8 from phase 1 will compete for STC points. You'll bet put up against a driver driving the same championship as you. At the end of each "season", the four surviving will be put against each other, again running the same championships.
3: Grand Finale:
This is it! The grand finale! Here, the final 2 drivers will face head to head in a series of varying races. The winner takes it all!
The basic idea was looking pretty similar to the one from Race Driver 2 (I'm gonna need a little help organizing the championships as I don't have unlimited time on my hands).
So, if you're interested, sign up with your gtp/psn/time and day you're usually online (time must be gmt). You're also welcome to help setting up some championships or helping by allowing us to use one you're currently hosting
