Idea: GT planet race w/ Formula 1 schedule.

Anyone interested in doing a GT planet GT5 race on the same day of Formula 1 corresponding with the track they are racing with.

For example today is the Monaco GP for F1 , so a race would be held on cote Azur today.


Sounds like a good idea? ( Obv some tracks are not on the schedule, so we would have to figure out what to do )
 
I believe this belongs in the Online Racing section of GT5.

I don't know, people might want to watch the race instead.
 
Perhaps you're both right...one can always record the race and of course the online race could be scheduled not to conflict with race coverage. So should be doable, but to me the issue is one can't really have an F1 race in GT5 and therefore the online race would in real life be considered a 'support' race ie: GP2/3. Then you need a consensus for what kind of race it would be...Nascar , LMP, tank cars or what...:D

You would need to schedule it pretty tight. Warm up, qualify, race and then a small time gap before all this or after to allow the F1 hardcore fans to watch live.

What about a go kart race prior, and a FGT race after. People could enter either or both. Go karts - 30 minute race, FGT 1 hour race.

Can you make F1's, FGT's & X1's all equal? I do not have them all yet so cannot do the tests. But that would be a way to make it interesting if you could.
 
would be an interesting f10 vs f2007 battle, or maybe even FGT if they're allowed

Yeah, like most of them. Besides the fact that it's obviously too late to do this with some grands prix, most of the circuits aren't in GT5. Let's see....

1) Australian Grand Prix - Too late. Not in GT5.
2) Malaysian Grand Prix - Too late. Not in GT5.
3) Chinese Grand Prix - Too late. Not in GT5.
4) Turkish Grand Prix - Too late. Not in GT5.
5) Spanish Grand Prix - Too late. Not in GT5.
6) Monaco Grand Prix - Too late. In GT5.
7) Canadian Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
8) European Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
9) British Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
10) German Grand Prix - In GT5. (Not always at Nurburgring, though.)
11) Hungarian Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
12) Belgian Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
13) Italian Grand Prix - In GT5.
14) Singapore Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
15) Japanese Grand Prix - In GT5.
16) Korean Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
17) Indian Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
18) Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - Not in GT5.
19) Brazilian Grand Prix - Not in GT5.

I don't think this is going to work out so well.
 
From experience I can tell you that championships stretched over such a long time don't tend to keep the same drivers throughout... but good luck anyway!

Also, as Iceman pointed out you've only got a couple of F1 tracks in the season remainder. This year's German GP is at Nurburgring so you're okay there, no Hockenheim for next year though ;)
 
I don't think it would push through because some people will watch the race.

Unless it would be held a few hours or days earlier/later.
 
Yeah, that's what I was going to say; most of the tracks aren't in GT5. But, it's a great idea!

You could still do something similar, just by substituting another track with similar characteristics.

I greatly dislike it when someone, who is not a mod, feels like they need to post on someone elses thread just to say; this thread doesn't need to be here. Who cares?! If it needs to be moved a mod will do it.
