i got a idea to improve you license time when it says 321 start dont go yet count 6 seconds then go and get to the finish with a bad time and update your ghost whenyou completed this retry the same one with a good time you will find the ghost wont get in your way

This is a good idea for people whose doing the second lesson on the b license
 
Or you could just press the select key after you start to disable the ghost.

Better yet, get used to the ghost and use it to learn how to drive better.
 
The ghost car only stays on when i do 1/4 mile times. :)

"How about "No", Scott?"

As pointed out before, the "Select" button turns the ghost off, but you can learn so much from the ghost it's not worth doing (in my opinion).
 
I always leave it on, it gives me vital info on how I did a corner better or how I didn't do it right.

I always leave if off. It's always in my way in the critical brakings and it very often makes me miss a turn or crash into a wall. I only keep an eye on the yellow spot on the track map to check positions.
 
I agree. I find the ghost to be distracting most times. Occasionally it is helpful but since it is me running against myself it is hard to come up with new tactical ideas - I need something to suggest a totally different approach sometimes.
 
I find sometimes that if i leave the ghost on i just follow it around and try to out brake it (which usually doesn't work too wel - as in I end up not braking enough and running off the trackl.) I find it more helpful to watch a reply and be able to see my best time from a third person perspective and watch for sections that I can improve on.
 
I always leave the ghost on even though it sometimes obstructs my view because I do learn from it and having that extra incentive to stay in front of it helps me push harder. It is sort of hard to watch the time when you are braking hard into a corner and cranking the car into a turn.
 
I have to say this:

Ghost = Coo'ness

No Ghost = No Coo'ness

I always leave the ghost on, and I'm always going to leave it on. It was the key for me beating S-8, and I could never get rid of it after that.
 
i leave it off, i get better lap times wit the ghost off.
