Is it me? Or do fans suck more these days than they used to.

I'm watching a Bengals game as the booos start to rain down on the offense for not moving the ball.

I'm watching a phillidelphia game where boos start coming out against Jeff Garcia for not moving the ball.

Vick gets booed in Atlanta and flips off the stadium.

Bledsoe gets booed for throwing an interception.

Rex gets booed a lot these days

Seattle gets booed at home despite the fact that they're probably going to the playoffs after making it to the superbowl last year despite the absense of two of their star players for a decent portion of the season.

But the absolute worst was last monday night. Jeff Garcia is driving the Eagles down the field to eventually win against the Carolina Panthers. He takes a HARD hit, the kind of hit that would knock McNabb out for two seasons. A flag is thrown for roughing the passer. He gets back up and keeps playing. Then he takes ANOTHER HARD hit immediately as he gets body slammed on the field. He gets up gimpy, trying to catch his breath. Feely (or whatever is name is) is warming up on the sidelines ready to relieve Jeff. But Jeff stays in... and the fans boo.

The fans booed Jeff, the backup QB that is leading your team to victory in a must-win game against the Panthers. The QB in the process of throwing for over 300 yards and 3 TDs in a fantastic clutch QB performance... and the fans boo him for taking a hard hit and staying in the game??

First of all, fans should know that booing makes them look horrible on television. It makes you look like a freaking idiot - certainly not someone who is loyal to your team. Second, they should realize that it isn't going to encourage the offense to do well. It tears down your team and builds the other one. What do you think the opposing team defense would prefer - for you to boo your offense? Or cheer them?

I'm disgusted at the behavior of the fans this season. Does any team still have a loyal fan base?

Agreed. What can you expect, though? Everyone wants their result. They aren't going to games to cheer on their team; they're going to games expecting to see complete home-team domination. It's like their home team is obligated to win these days or something.

Yes. I think the Dolphins have a good fan base. When I go to games, NOBODY boos the Dolphins. Not many people are Dolphins fans in South Florida, but the ones that are are the good ones who attend the games. (Until the Jets come to play and Dolphin Stadium becomes Jets Stadium.) In that regard, I guess you could also chalk the Jets up on that list.

Fans in Philadelphia are notorious for booing everything. I think it was in Philly one year that fans booed Santa Claus at a football game. ESPN sometimes talks about it around this time of year.

We go to a hockey game, if it's say 4-0 with 7min. left and everyone starts to leave.

I don't go to any other sports games because frankly it's boring has hell. Never been to a football game, don't intend to and don't like that sport.

In the NBA, fans will boo their team if their team is being lazy, standing around. In Portland, our Zach Randolph used to hog the balls a lot(reminds me of myself). Once in a while, he would get booed so loudly for that. In those types of circumstances, I think booing your team is acceptable.

I don't get danoff's Jeff Garcia example though. I don't understand the reason to boo there either.

Well they wanted his backup to come into the game as best I can tell. The fans didn't have confidence in Jeff and were looking forward to seeing what the 3rd string QB could do. But Jeff was out there busting his ass doing a terrific job and getting beaten up in the process. Does he get any love? Nope.

Yeah, wtf. Did they boo when McNabb went out like a cupcake? The guy shredded his knee while running out of bounds...

Garcia is at least a workhorse.

New York fans are the worst.

No doubt. I accept it, when the Yanks are doing not so well, EVERYBODY boos them; When a Met player is hitting, let's say .400 during two weeks with 6 or seven home runs, everybody cheers...the moment that player starts being shaky....OMG, he immediately becomes the enemy of the state.

Same in Football games, although I feel Giant fans are more forgiving since we've always been the underdogs of NY.

Ciao!

Hehe... cupcake... good stuff. I was lamenting recently that I didn't call McNabb "fragile" or "delicate" in my earlier rants. "Cupcake" is on the money though.

 for me i have a love hate realationship with my team.... the New York Giants:crazy: like 2 games ago they were up 21-0 going into the 4th quarter and they ended up losing 24 nothing, at times like that i have every rite to be an idot fan!... i nearly pooped myself:indiff: i also love the Colts, Payton Manning is the best!!!

And whats with all these calls to replace every quarter back? Ever since Tom Brady and Ben Rothlesberger, fans want their starting quaterback replaced by some kid who hasnt even seen the light of day, in hopes of some sort of god like player that can play every position at once without flaw. The quarterback has a couple of bad games, and suddenly he needs to be replaced. You think the "fans" expect to get fired everytime they have an off day at work? morons.

Unfortunately, NFL coaches aren't helping their quarterbacks out when they lose a game due to poor coaching, yet blame the QB. Seems the patience of everyone involved with the NFL is growing shorter, and shorter. Fans, coaches, players.

Man, I can't imagine any Baltimore fan actually booing the Ravens.

I really can't imagine anyone booing their own team though - who does that?

They dont do that because they dont love their team, they do it to beat the traffic. If they know their team is gonna lose, whats the point staying?

I personally would stay, but people i talk to say that they would leave
