If they let people use a mouse and keyboard on consoles, i will quit FPS forever.

The reason i love playing COD, Bad Company, MAG etc on PS3 is because everyone has the same controller, and it puts a limit in place.

The mouse as a aiming device is too fast, and if you were to pit two people against each other, one with a controller, and the other with a mouse. No matter who they were, the mouse player would win (Unless they'd never played the game before).

If i start getting annihilated online because people can use a mouse, and therefore have a massive advantage, i don't think i'd play any FPS games anymore.

During development of Bad Company 2, alot of players wanted it, but the dev team decided not to do it because it would unbalance the game too much. I agree with them.

I just wanted to see if anyone disagrees with me

it will eventually come. Maybe they make different servers for online gaming for it. Its already possible to check what controller setup everyone uses, so shouldnt be that big of a problem really.

Its not much different from people using a stick to drive, whilst others have big cockpits?

Or someone using sticks to fly, while others using very enhanced joysticks.

Or people using TrackIR etc

There will always be "gear" advantages in games. Thats what the manufactures make the $$ from.

It would also open for the option to merge consoles. Meaning, pc+xbox+ps3 etc can play the multiplatform FPS games vs eachother. Ofc its not in the near future, but its not impossible in the long run.

As squishy points out, there are already huge gear advantages. Take for instance me playing on my 42 inch 1080p with full surround sound versus the kid using a SD TV with stereo speakers...

Besides, UT3 on the PS3 allows for Mouse and Keyboard control, and it included a game filter for those like you that wanted to avoid that "disadvantage"

It is just going back to the roots. FPS games started out on the PC and were played with a Mouse and Keyboard. It is just a more precise setup for the most part and very much what many of us prefer.

There are devices out there already that allow keyboards and mice on even xbox360s. I can't remember the name of the device out there, but this does the same job and is coming soon:

http://team-xecuter.com/xfrag/

And to save you all time, the G25 doesn't work on the device already out there, I looked into it a while back. Not sure with the xfrag.

What's the current deal with cheaters using turbo controllers and the such, has it been stamped out successfully or not?

i would love to use my mouse on the ps.I come from pc gaming. Console FPS were none existant in my time. the precison of a mouse is unreachable with a stick.

I have the FraxFX, and needless to say, it ain't very good, than i prefer playing with the sticks. But if splitfish get's one out with a good mouse (the controller is fine) i take it .

All the big fps multiplatform as BC2, COD, and other shooters i take them all to the pc. Far better. I play pc and ps on same screen so no advantage there.
But better graphics and far more precise.

but i guess it's too geeky techy for sony and the average console user that i simply don't see it coming

You can already play any PS3 game for the past couple years with the Razer mouse/keyboard. So the level playing field you've been enjoying is an illusion. I'd take a controller over a mouse/kb for a lot of FPS games, the huge advantage people talk about really isn't *that* huge.

Can you show me that mouse/keyboard?? Is it working in games ? Neva heard of it!!

The difference ain't huge. If you begin playing with controllers than you probably better with joysticks than mouse/keyb. Contrary way is the same. As said i come from pc so i like it more. i think i'm pretty well with the controller too. at least in mag Kill/Death: 1.56

Here you go, sorry, I get my gear mixed up some times and it isn't a Razr product, they do make nice stuff though.

Spitfish FragFX

I don't know if that's the most recent version of it but there are a few similar models that do the same thing.

I totally agree.

hey i did! Lol. And it's not that good, the mouse has a great leak factor when trying to headshot someone! Not very precise.
FragFx is known by a large public (amazon has 3-4 different ones)

A less known is a mouse from bannco fragstein. but reviews on different sites, where to good, plus the reviews were out before the product??

I play with the fragfx in single player, because AI doesn't respond as fast as in multiplayer. But still i haven't touched it in months and passed a couple of hours on mag without needing it.
If i need my dose of mouse, i play fps on my pc.

I was talking with a friend if changing the laser in the mouse would/could help?

If they allowed keyboard and mouse use I would actually play FPS's on consoles, I can't stand them now with the controller.

When PS3 came out I was hoping atleast some FPS's would feature it.

Why not just go and get your own mouse and keyboard, and level the playing field. I'm sure that people who play racing games with contollers say the same thing about us that use wheels, and they are right, it gives us a big advantage, but they have the option to go buy a wheel.

I'm for anything that makes the experience better, and being able to use a mouse would make the aiming much more accurate and faster.
