If you were to die while still being a frequent GTP'er...

would you have someone log in to this website and share with everyone that you have passed away?

I know this is just a Forum, but a lot of people here have made real and cool friendships with real people. I would be sad if someone(a good friend) I knew for 3 years on an internet forum just stopped talking to me. I'd be confused, angry, and just sad.

So, have you given anyone your username and password because of this? Your mom? Dad? Brother? Best friend? Or do you just have your usernames and passwords written on a piece of paper taped on your desk?

This has really always intrigued me.

I keep it logged in so I figure if I die my parents will go through my bookmarks. I am not worrying about that, being 15 and all but as I said in Kikies thread, I would like to know if someone here did die.

Yep, even to the point that I'd get my wife to come on here and tell you all that I died riding a monkey driven, rocket-powered sled across the Antarctic that crashed into a glacier at 600km/h.

I would definitely want someone to do that for me, although I’ve not set up any plans yet to do so.

I imagine though that if I were to die it would end up on Facebook, which would then get passed to the GTP friends I have who know me on Facebook.

If the next GTP awards have a 'most morbid thread' award I think this one has a good chance of winning.

It'll have died a death by then.

Please, lay the death jokes to rest... :D

Probably not. Although it would be nice of someone to let everyone know that I had passed, I doubt it'll be on the top of list of things to do for anyone.

About a month after my death, I'd like someone to log into my account and make a new thread just saying "hi". But I think I've ruined the surprise now. I'm sure my mum would notify the community.

I'm immortal.

Yeh, if it came down to it, I would like someone to notify 'the planet'.

When I die you'll all know because I'm sure I'll do something epically stupid enough to either be all over the news or have multiple books written.

My brother would. I've made it a note to just let people know on the sites I go to. GTP is one of those.

I would also want someone to tell the people I know that I came to an unfortunate demise. GTP being on that list, especially considering this is the only forum I frequent on a daily basis. Plenty of people know me here; whether I've called them stupid, them calling me stupid, or me just helping someone out.

Death may have happened to some of the users that do not log on anymore for years. I do not know why I get that strange feeling sometimes.

That is true, Eric.
Wonder if the Daniel before me died... Let's hope that's not a curse :scared:
It would pass around through Facebook, need to get a few more friends from GTP on there

I'm not sure why, but I think posting what happened on GTP would be one of the last things my family or friends would think to do after I died. Granted I've been coming here for 8 years now, but I don't really talk about GTplanet outside of GTplanet (like fight club) so I don't think anybody would think of it.

I'm friends with a few of you on facebook, so like others said, it would inevitably make it here through that.

If I'm offline for more than a week then presume I'm dead. Apart from when I've been on holidays I don't think I've been away from GTP for more than a day or two since I joined.

Funny that you mention this WeinerSchnitzel, did you know there are actually undertakers around that offer services like this as part of their package? Only a few so far, but I think it will be standard in a couple of years.

I have a piece of paper with my passwords and login names hidden somewhere. It would be found eventually. I hope.

Nah, my job here is only to post about the embarrassingly stupid things you do :)

If done properly, death could easily fit those criteria. Tis my plan, anyway...
