I'd say the combination of Halo 2 and Fable would be good enough reason to buy an Xbox. There's supposed to be console price cuts soon, too, but that might just be over in the U.K.
 
After reading the review and watching the videos I can say that I'm definatly buying this one, I dont even think I'll rent it first. Even after the Pro Race Driver disaster I had with the PS2.

buying 3 used good Xbox games is more worth buying one new game just for the system, they'll be new to you. 👍 thats what i did.
 
it had 8, it was reduced from 14 to keep a steady frame rate. PRD2 for ps2 has 20 cars and looks allot like the Xbox version. Much better looking than PRD for PS2.
 
I think i'll get this game aswell(Fable that is).I wonder,what do you guys think, wich game will be better?Fable or Sudeki,i can't get both so i have to decide.

I'd say Fable. I played a sudeki demo and I didnt find it that fun, there isnt anyhting special about it imo. Fable is revolutionary and full of new concepts and probably has more story play time and loads of free roam time too be spent in it. The combat in sudeki isnt that great either. I have to go check my demo disc to make sure I'm talking about the right game tho I might be mistaking sudeki for something else.
 
I can never judge an RPG by the reviews.

It all comes down to how much you like the world and the mythology that accompanies it. I hate turn based stuff, but FF7 is probably my favourite RPG ever because of the story, characters and music.

I didnt like the game on any platform but PS2 version got the shaft. Crap graphics low res, only 4 or 6 cars on track at one time or soemthing.

really? what impressed me about that game was the amount of cars on track with the full damage engine. It also had some neat ideas like animated pit stops that actually made a difference, a good in car camera view, and lots of fantastic real world tracks.

the handling was so-so. too twitchy.

True but not for the rating but the comments and opinions. It may get a rental next week.

Front Mission 3 is turn based, that and Chrono trigger changed my whole view on those kinds of rpgs just this year. Champions of Norrath is good but flawed/bugged. Call to arms should be even better.

champions of norrath being good? as long as you consider the editor's opinions gospel... then sure!

Otherwise, not even worth the rental.
 
Then whats your opinion on Dark Alliance 2 if Con was bad? Con was better than DA2. Sady there will not be a Da3 . Are you buying Fable? I just saw two commercials for it. If I have the cash I may buy it.
 
isnt it supposed to be out? I took a trip to the local EB and they don't know when theyre getting it. Incompetent bastards.

They had a big video thing about fable on the latest X-box demodisc, I was pretty impressed with what I saw. Eh my copy of riddick is still sitting unplayed though, can't remember the last time I sat down and played me x-box.
 
Oh yeah I played the demo and I was real impressed. I've also been meaning to buy Toca 2 and Sega GT online but I haven't. :indiff:
 
First off kinigitt, you need to take the shipping date and add a day because teleporters haven't been invented yet.
secondly, I got it and it is really good. It's not quite "split the earth in two" good, but it's definitely worth a peek. I like the graphics (low res textures to the max on most things) because they are complex and look lush in all respects. The combat system is good, but it should be because it was lifted straight from Zelda OOT.
Lots of the little things are kind of worthless to me (marrying, renting out houses, farting, kicking chickens etc etc.) but all the little details add up to quite a bit of meat and make the world seem that much more entertaining and immersive. I also like that traders travel from point to point and you can meet them along the way in remote areas.
It seems like it's a bit short and a few extra quest wouldn't have hurt the game any. I also think they give you the ability to move instantly from one place to another way too early. The game would have benefitted greatly from a little more legwork in the first 3-4 hours of the game.
 
I didnt know the ship date. I asked what the shipping date was. They didnt know.

Anyway I have it sitting here unopened. I'll be back when I'm done the whole thing for impressions.
