Greetings all

I have returned to the smoke filled haze of Sydney (cough - eyes streaming) and the wonderous world of internet access. Ah, the joy of bushfire season...

Not much to report here. Christmas was good, although I think I was in serious danger of becoming my own excess baggage on the plane. Good old Melbourne was bloody freezing.

I see we're changing servers but otherwise just the usual chit-chat here.

Peak hour this morning was very quiet - although given the reduced visibility because of the smoke I may not have been able to see many cars....

Aw shucks...

Yeah - it was good - Christmas lunch with relatives. Trust you had a good one.

My mother's quite ill at the moment (hence the reason I spent Christmas away from Sydney and my partner) so it was difficult from that perspective, but it was good to get her out of her house.

It's good to be home but I'm always up for a bit of a worry...

Those Brush fires sound nasty, nothing quite like that over here (generally...)
Sorry to hear about your mom though, hope everything gets better for her. :(

The fires are very bad - probably worse than '94 - check out the local newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald (www.smh.com.au - good paper anyway).

Sadly, Mum has lung cancer, and is in that 'treatment-recovery-stability-activity-treatment-recovery...' cycle so familiar to anyone who has family members go through serious cancer, and for her the cycles are getting shorter and shorter. Don't get me started on smokers...
