x2 maginifaction doubles the 1920x1080 in the 16:9 ratio to 3840x2160. Panning mode 3 follows the car, blurring the wheels and background but keeping the car in focus, like a rig shot, where as panning mode 1 acts as a real photographer tracking the car, if you're farther away and zoom in quite a bit, more of the car will be in focus, but if you're up close, more of the car will blur, and only a small segment will be in focus.
 
another cool idea is using arcade mode because you can make races like tuners only, or WRC cars only if you use a car from the arcade only list, like this:

Doubles the resolution, I was close lol

I will have to try that as well. Never liked the photo locations that much, but I'll give em a shot!
