(No pun intended)

I dont post much, so here we go.

I thought getting the logitek steering wheel would help me improve my lap times but I seem not to see any progress? Why can't I improve on my times on the time trial tracks and beat the ai on some of the challenge levels?

Is the game really that hard?

It's Gran Turismo, not Need For Speed. Getting fast in Gran Turismo takes time and practice. No hard feelings, it's just the way it is.

For how long have you been trying with the wheel? Driving with a wheel should be faster than driving with a pad, for almost anyone. (At least if it is a 900 degree wheel. 180 degree wheels are not the same thing.) But the wheel needs some time to get used to.

I have a Driving Force Pro, and when I try driving with the pad I almost feel like handicapped.

Dont expect to be faster and the drop of a pin. All the countless hours you put in on the controller to improve your skill, is going to be needed on the wheel. Im also a new wheel user and im still a bit slower with certain tracks and cars. Hang in there and you will get in. Consistancy first then speed 👍

When i got my wheel i thought the same thing, but i was still Automatic. Then i thought "Hey... I have a shifter now" haha, and since i started using a Manual Trasmission my lap times have got a lot quicker. It really helps for entering/taking/and exiting corners properly.

Yes finding the apex, braking points, counter steer, over steer in a car and track is totally different physics feel between the wheel and pad controller. With the wheel it will actually teach you how to control a car more precisely.

So keep working on your driving style, find the right setup, practice on your favorite track and find the right brakepoints, apex and you will improve your lap times. It will always translate to improved driving in a real car opposed to a pad controller. Unless your real car runs on an AXIS D-Pad controller.

If you bought a wheel to go faster, quite frankly you're a complete fool. You should only invest in a wheel to have more fun and be more immersed in the game, never EVER purely to just go faster.

However the short answer is you've been playing games on a pad for a while i imagine, switching to a wheel is a big change and it takes ALOT of time to adjust.

i've recently got the gt driving force wheel and its taken me around 2 months to get equal/faster laps but it is more enjoyable! I also find that pro phyics are easier as well (when traction and ABS is off) with the control it was a nightmare!

practice, practice, practice.....study, study, study. here are some tips.....

its all about observing other replays (like time trial replays) from the driving view and then trying to copy there moves.

Its all about practice. Try to get gold in the license tests and challenges.

Ghost car and hot lapping. A really good way to learn a track...

Its also about trying to be smoother and keeping tire squealing to a minimum.

A big mistake some people do is they try to force a turn out of the car and they over crank the wheel (instead of focusing on there gas and braking) which just ends in massive under/over steer. The wheel just allows you to make more precise turns and helps detect over/under steer.
