So, I got a Logitech G27 for Christmas this year, but due to mechanical malfunctions, we had to send it back. It was bought on EBay as a refurbished one for about $250 from a seller with an above 90 rating. So, like I said, we sent it back and got a full refund from the seller. So now I'm faced with the decision of getting another G27, this time from Logitech, or getting another kind of Racing Wheel. I'd get another G27, but I don't want the same thing that happened the first time to happen again and if get a different Brand of wheel, but I like all of the features that the G27 has. Plus, my budget doesnt help either. What should I do?

Buy it on Newegg. It's 20 bucks more but it allows Paypal as a payment option.
In addition to that, it would be new. Saving the extra $20 really isn't worth it when you could get a faulty set again.

$230 - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=612291&Q=&is=REG&A=details

They accept paypal. It's free shipping and no tax. That should cover it ;) B&H is legit by the way.

I don't know if this is the model that are you after or the newer model because this is the older model. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380757823527?item=380757823527&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466

Logitech G27 hands down is the best wheel available on the market right now. Just because refreshed broke down does not mean new one does it too.

New model is upgraded so you can purchased and use it for long years to come.

Thing is, with new you have a 2 year warranty, re-furbed warranties are usually only a few months if any.

With certain things it's well worth it to get new, this being one of them! Like the guys above said, it's not worth it so try and save a couple bucks when it comes to things like this.

With that said, I rarely buy crap off E Bay, the only exception is if absolutely nowhere else has the item.

Was your problem due to off-center issues? Like..the wheel didn't go in the middle properly?

In Its Price range, Yes the G27 is the best.

What "New" model do you speak of ?

I heard Logitech changed the design of the box, maybe that's what he meant.

No, the wheel wouldn't respond at all. It wouldn't self calibrate either. Everything else worked fine.
Oh that...I remember getting my G27 Wheel-Base off Ebay. Had the same problem and it was the motherboard..

The refresh version is same in terms of exterior BUT it actually changed in terms of system firmware, and Optical Encoder design. Logos have changed a bit too, haha. The first two encoders are meant for the G27 that came in the old box design (Green & Black), while the third one is for the refresh G27. Plastic is OEM and the brass was made by CM Laser Service. I notice the new encoder has been designed to avoid any center loss even with a crack, BUT it changed a bit when mine cracked.

Oh, so there were minor upgrades. I may also be looking at replacing my G27. Probably shouldn't have let my friends, who have no idea what they are doing, do so much driving and well, crashing. It feels a little off to me now sometimes, and I think the gears may be a little damaged.

But OT, Camaro69427 I say go with the G27, it's gonna be the best wheel you can find at that price point.

It's not the best wheel on the market. After using other wheels and coming back to the G27 it felt like a child's toy. Now I would say it's the best wheel for the price point. But anymore, it's an outdated wheel.

I have got a G27 and it does its job for the price. But what would you say is the best wheel on the market is something goes wrong with my G27. Of course it all depends on how much you have.

Best you have to pay big money for of course. If you are on a budget I feel particularly the t500rs offer much better bang for buck then a g27. But g27 is a decent option if you don't care to much about feel or can't integrate a big and bulky t500rs. There is also the tx but appear you have to budget for a set of t500rs pedals but may be worth it. Can't say as I haven't tried the tx

If you are not considering PS3 than I would suggest taking a look at Thrustmaster TX, the pedals are worse probably than G27 and then there is no gearbox, but the wheel it self is really good and the rest of the wheel can be upgraded easily without huge costs.
