I'm missing "Motion Blur" in the BMW Demo.

After all these months tasting those superb blurry pics, and with the promise that we will enjoy motion blur in replays, don't you miss this feature in the new demo? I can see no motion blur any further than in the wheels, but we already had that in gt3.

So, don't you feel a little deceived? Do you think we will find this effect in the final build? Just in replays? Just for Photo Mode? (I guess during gameplay it's totally discarded...)

Let's hear (read ;)) your opinions...

The motion blur is only poto mode. But the crash affect may be wht you mean, in a sense that when you hit a wall too hard in first perosn view the screen shakes. Motion blur while racing would tend ot make one sick, no?

No, it's not only in photomode. If you see the vid with the falken gtr, you'll see blur. He's talking about the Blur in replays. I dont know why the blur isn't in the bmw demo. I know there's a gt4 vid out with 6 cars on track and that vid didnt show motion blur. I dont understand how the blur is seen in the falken gtr on the nurb vid. That vid is pretty old.

Maybe the old 1 series doesn't go fast enough for the Blur to take effect...

Also the blur that you've seen with the falken vid might be the compression format being crap.

Are you referring to the heat radiation where from far the track looks like it has water on it but it's really the heat vapors radiating from the pavement?

No, that is something different. They're talking about the video of the Skyline on the Nurb. If you look at the front of the car, it's in sharp focus, but toward the back of the car, and the view around the car, it is blured gradually to make it appear that it was moving at high speed.

You can reach 205Km/h in the Diesel model in Döttinger Höhe or Schwedenkreuz in Nürburgring, and look at this picture:

that car is not moving over 60 or 70Km/h and we can see the effect.

The same goes for this image:

I guess this crappy "vehicle" is not cornering at very high speed.

So, what can we expect for the full game???

But those are Photomode images... (From a replay yes... but they could've added the blur effect to it.)

Could it have been the DoF (depth of field) effect you are thinking of? If the focus in the replay was set to the front of the car then the rear may have appeared blurry because of this.

That's just what i'm saying... they promised it for replays, and it seems we can enjoy it just in Photo Mode.

Wait and see, so far the replay feature of GT4 lacks on effects compared to GT3(video clip mode with funky color effects, motion blur, heat waves, etc) and KY promised an improved replay for GT4.

(no sabía que también posteabas por aquí. )

I'd rather not have a pretty, usless blur using up system resources. More cars!

I think in-game motion blur could add much to gameplay (better speed feeling).

i think (i hope) they leave it for the final version of GT4 :)
it's very nice to see it in replays it add's some realistic tv like graphics to the game.

but what about the heat shiver from GT3?? there is not one single screen from GT4 where you can see it.. so i guess they had to take it out becouse otherwise the motion blur could not work correct.. or it takes to much Mhz to do it at the same time..

I think the GT4 build with the skyline at the nurb is newer then the build of the BMW demo...But that old pic at paris and the snow track pic had motion blur added in PM. I don't think that those are available in a replay.

from the people who played @ the last ring appearance by Kaz and GT4, they claimed and the footage supported that the overall sense of speed (SOS) in game and in replays has improved tremendously over GT3 and GT4P. The motion blur technique is one of the elements that has a direct impact on SOS and should be a fixture in the final release... although in less than a week we should have some stunning new media from the TGS to support the hypothesis.

More cars, what? More cars on-screen at the same time, or more cars available to unlock?

Because that last thing has nothing to do with the graphics / physics system. It only takes up more development time and disk-space. Not more resources on the graphics and physics systems while racing.
