Since last update I've done two of the remaining 3 endurance races I had. They weren't fun and I didn't really get anything out of them.
Laguna Seca: Just for kicks, I pitted once. On lap 50. That was fun
Won an Altezza LM. I already have one. I didn't need the money, but I sold it anyway. whee.
Special Stage Route 11: Won a 687/S. I already have one, but this one is black, so I'm keeping it (the other is yellow).
That leaves Monaco, which I have to do twice (counting the F1* race)
After completing Laguna Seca, I decided to try out it's corrisponding time trial, thinking I would have a good feel for the course. So I did that for an hour. My best time was good enough for second place.
I suppose after that, I maybe should have checked out what car was required for the time trial at SS11 and done the race in it. But I didn't, I just hauled out my old 787B again (1700mi now). Whatever the time trial car is probably would have been outclassed by all the LM cars that showed up anyway.
Speaking of LM cars, I had an interesting opening 5 laps chasing the other 787 in the field. It suddenly fell back for some reason after that though. I discovered why when it pitted in on lap 7. Stupid AI.
"This race was handed to you on a silver platter by fear of super slicks and the colour orange".
Remaining races:
-Vitz pro: This is quite difficult. I've done the opening laps a few times, it's a struggle to keep up.
-All the really hard series races: There are at least two of these. The field consists of: R390, GT-1, GT40, 787B, GTR-1 and some other not as good racecar to hang out at the back of the pack with the GT40. I suck at these races. My only LM car is the 787B, and I can't keep up in it.
-Formula GT: I did a one off at midfield in the 688, it was easy. An endurance race where I actually have to pit a lot might be interesting, but I can still handle a lot more tire wear then the AI will tolerate.
-Time Trials: I have most of those left. I find them extremely difficult and quite annoying. The only good ones were the rally tracks, and I only have Tahiti maze left of those. (which isn't a fun one, because my best lap is .7 sec away from first and I can't get close to that time anymore)
So, will I get 100% by the time GT4 comes out? Probably not. I don't think it's likely I'll get 100% in that, either.
*I remember people always getting corrected about that. It's either "There are no F1 cars in the game, you mean Indy cars" or "there are no Indy cars in the game, you mean F1 cars." I can't remember which. I think I'm right...
I don't really pay attention to either.
