Is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of nintendo getting paid off of the same old Mario BS? I know he is the franchise and s#!t but some things need to come to an end. Me personally, I havent enjoyed a mario game since super mario 3 or maybe the one on super nintendo with yoshi but the 3d installments and I have never got along. I think nintendo needs a new face. How about u? :sly:

Mario is in much less disrepair then the Sonic series, and Sega will never dump that.
Especially since UR MR GAY was pretty good, apparently.

UR MR GAY is amazingly good. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it or not, and I wasn't even paying attention to when it was going to be released (as opposed to the anticipation I hold for February 10th), so when I saw people talking about it here, I went out and bought it on little more than a whim. I didn't regret it -- I don't know whether to crown Galaxy or Super Mario 64 as the best 3D platformer ever made.

The way I see it, yes, Mario has done way too many spin-offs, but the core games are still very enjoyable and of very high quality. In fact, you could even say the same thing for a lot of the spin-offs (Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is a huge exception, but easily explained -- it was made by Sega). Nintendo may rely on their classic franchises a lot, but that doesn't mean their development teams are any less talented.

No offense, shaka, but if you and the 3D Mario games don't get along, I think you just aren't cut out for 3D platforming. In terms of accessibility and intuitiveness, they're top notch in the genre.

The only Mario game that still continues to entertain me is Smash Bros., and that's not even about Mario....

I'm sure 'spaghetti eating plumbers' (spelt correctly) is racist or rather a derogatory comment..... mods MODS!!!

Perhaps you (note, not u) feel that way, but I think most of us that have played Galaxy, along with several of the other 3d installments of Mario, would agree that they all do an excellent job.

You reference Sony products four times in your signature and profile, among some other ego inflating material. We could look at some of the tired and true games that Sony has now, like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Grand Turismo, and so on. The big difference though between Sony's core franchises and Nintendo's is Sony's really are just the exact same gameplay mechanics with different stories, while Nintendo has the same story with new gameplay mechanics. I personally prefer the latter, as I haven't finished a Final Fantasy game, ever.

Tired and true was a very nice touch. I have to agree with you about Nintendo using the same old story and slapping on some breakthrough gameplay. I also have Galaxy and I think it may be the best platform game I've ever played. So what if its Super Mario 64 with planets instead of paintings. I absolutely love the gravity effect when you jump between planets and use pull stars.

The second player really helps out less experienced players, I play with my young cousin and it helps her out alot when i can hold enemies and shoot star bits while she focuses on jumping around. I don't know if you've played with a second player yet, but give it try sometime. Sometimes I'll use it when i'm playing alone because you can explode those "red eye boulders" by holding them with the second player.
